There is a lot we don't know but from what I do know now I am disappointed. My 2020 Avalon hybrid limited could use more power and all wheel drive and yes, the lifted added ground clearance would be very welcomed. What I don't like is. prop rods in the top end trim? 2 way instead of 4 way lumber? manual tilt-telescoping wheel? No lumbar at all for the passenger? The elegant real wood trim and actual leather design on the door of my Avalon limited compared to the bland interior of this replacement. ugh. I wanted a upscale Toyota version of the failed VW Arteon and didn't get that from this at all. Maybe the ES replacement which will be 60, 000 will have what my 46, 500 MSRP 38, 000 paid Avalon will actually have it's higher end features.

The front reminds me of the current Honda Accord. Toyota will regain The Crown once they finally release a Highlander Prime. They REALLY need to make a higher horsepower PHEV Highlander.
I don't like the inefficient HybridMAX powertrain in this. I know it's supposed to be sporty but, with current gas prices, a vehicle like this makes no sense in my opinion. Toyota should have stuck with the formula in Prime and created a line in that instead of this HybridMAX for making high performance hybrids.
Alex, have you ever asked Toyota about a possible Highlander Prime? They are truly missing out by not bringing one to market.

Honestly, im surprised Toyota are punting some of their Japanese line up to the North American market but strangely, Toyota's Japan websites classifies this as an SUV/Crossover. Meanwhile Toyota USA is calling this an lift-up sedan which idk why as anything with SUV/Crossover in the marketing material is what sells vehicles. As for the car itself, it could use alot more chrome and if it gonna get near Lexus territory, why not offer the Japanese Crown badge as an option?

Now when they completely destroyed the original concept and made this Kvazimodo, they are going to introduce it to the world? What even is this? Lifted luxury sedan with plastic arches and avalon grill? And that black plastic piece on the doors. WHOS IS THIS ATTORCITY FOR?

Happy to see Toyota trying new styling at last like other companies, it has some design cues from KIA K8, also great that they raised the height as the Avalon and ES were very very low to get in and out (which made the car experience horrible, also wish they did not have a CVT option. and have to say they red-black color is ugly (don't know what were they thinking)

I grew up in a fully loaded 2006 Toyota crown. Wood and tan leather interior, screen that was ahead of its time, cassette and CD player most importantly, 3. 0 v6 and RWD. The car is elegant, has presence, extremely quiet inside, not fast but doesn t need to be. Crown in my heart is always an elegant art piece, not a sporty plastic cladding 4 cylinder disaster.

So I've never been a fan of Toyota, for my entire life they've been lackluster and I'm tainted from all the memories of times they broke down growing up. BUT in the last year Toyota has really been releasing cool, seemingly high quality products like this and dare I say I would actually buy one of these out of choice instead of necessity.

HORRIBLE. They combined the WORST parts of a sedan and a SUV. Someone who wants a SUV is NOT going to buy this bc of the trunk opening and cargo space. And someone who wants a sedan is not going to buy this either. WTH were they thinking.

When they said two-tone, I was expecting a different roof color, which is available on quite a few vehicles nowadays. Then this abomination showed up. The car looks good, but definitely don t get this two-tone option lmaooo

Why would you not go for the 42mpg Rav4 AWD hybrid fo the last 2 years wiih more cargo and higher ground clearance over this? Sedans are dead unless your going for ultimate MPG. Makes no sense.
