A 50k plus vehicle and it doesnt have a dedicated remote starter button on the key fob. It was a nice review as usual but this vehicle left a lot to be desire for that price tag. The 3rd row seats was just added just to be add it. By the looks of it is not that useful. At least you get a bigger cargo area once you put the 3rd row down. If the front passenger moves the seat forward it will give the 2nd row more leg room if theres a 3rd row passenger. The 3rd row passenger on the driver side is not so lucky since the driver can only move so much forward to drive comfortably. About the lack of a dedicated remote starter button on the key fob is my biggest complaint on my 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE Hybrid. Followed by the short range that the key fob has to lock, unlock and remote start the Highlander, hopefully on this more expensive vehicle the range is better. I find that to be doubtful since its from the same parent company.

FINALLY someone that called them out on it. I SWEAR sometimes corporate Lexus seems to be tone deaf. They HEAR you but fail to LISTEN. They went the budget route and failed miserably on this. Same goes for their lack of technological advances in engine management in the V8s be it the Land cruiser, Sequoia etc. Plenty of competition out there with MUCH better option and have Engineers who have put some their noodles and rose to the V8 challenge. Look at the GMC Denali XL. Its a BEHEMOTH yet gets 23 mog on freeway with cylinder deactivation. Awesome gas mileage. I can imagine in future iterations mixing of electric batteries will eck out another 2-4 mpg. Toyota/Lexus has ALL the cards in terms of technology, battery, engineering prowess yet they let this half assed RX 350 L out of the barn.

The 2GR 3. 5L engine family is beyond outdated. toyota makes minor updates from year to year, but its essentially the same engine that was introduced way back in 2005. No excuse for a luxury brand, selling cars at a premium, to be using old tech spanning across multiple vehicle generations. To quickly make my point, Ill just say this power plant is old tech and does not compete. Also, the 8-speed ZF transmission dates back to 2008 and the infotainment/interior tech systems are also dated and proprietary. Today is not a good time to be buying Lexus if you want to sell it for a decent residual on the aftermarket in 5-7 years.

I was very disappointed by this attempt at a 3-row CUV. I was expecting a proper 3-row CUV from Lexus. Maybe not able to carry adults, but at the very least as functional as the 3rd-row as the MDX for kids. I seen this in person, and this I cant even fit a 7-year old in that 3rd-row. This to me seems like a half- attempt to rush a 3-row CUV into market as an afterthought. It also pisses me off that the panoramic sunroof isnt available on this 3-row version. On a luxury CUV, a panoramic sunroof is a must have. Very disappointed with Lexus. Ill be looking at a Honda Pilot Elite, Acura MDX, or Buick Enclave instead.

Well I mean, people begged Lexus to make a 3 row RX and they did. Lexus probably knew it wont be a great idea but seeing consumers whine and moan over it, the top exec probably just told the chief designer and engineers to make it happen. Thus, we got this; a steaming pile of oof. There is no way that a car can somehow be stretched further without making compromises to its chassis and multiple other things. Maybe wait til the next generation RX where they actually start R&D with a 3-row design from the beginning. Even if it did have a 3 row option, how will it best the next-gen MDX?

Lexus absolutely dropped the ball where packaging is concerned. When I heard they were gonna be offering an RX with a third row I though they wouldve used the Toyota Highlander platform at least to get a good enough basis. Nope. They used the RX and gave it the most useless Thurs row ever and then went on to try and charge 4000+ over the regular RX. No Lexus. No. Fix this or kill it with fire. And that front grille still needs to go too.

Not impressed. What features does this vehicle have over the Signature CX-9? I feel like that trim is more premium than this entire vehicle even though its not a premium/luxury brand. Surely a CX-9 would be cheaper and more driving/life enjoyment over this RXL. And a MDX over that. Then x5 and Q7. Does no one care about driving vehicles? & Passengers want to feel alive too. I pick Xc90 or a cx9

I dont know if the architecture of either chassis would allow for this, but Ive wondered if the RX or the Land Cruiser (in 5 seat configuration) could offer an executive rear seat option where the seats were positioned as rearward as possible to provide more leg room. This might make sense especially for the Land Cruiser in particular which competes (in some senses) with the Range Rover.

I had a RX 450L ready to order until both the salesman and I found out together the tow rating. Zero pounds. You are not supposed to add an aftermarket tow package to it and an OEM isnt, obviously, available. I ordered the Highlander Limited Hybrid Platinum package instead but miss nifty LED headlights and Apple CarPlay: . Everything else is wonderful.

I love the traditional instrument cluster of the non-hybrid RX 14: 38. This still looks great and is easiest to read/use. Auto manufacturers are always trying to improve or change this instrument cluster design and if they change or come out with a new instrument cluster design, it is always a bad design, harder to read/use, and looks worse too.
