The Lancia Stratos was a supercar like no other, but with just 492 built, values are vast. So what if you could get then Stratos look, sound and pace for -30k? Step forward Lister Bell STR kit car

Why isnt it red, only joking, the stratos was designed to spend most of its forward motion going round corners the short wheelbase meant that driving in a strait line was the hard bit. What a car, designed for the job in hand. A masterpiece and often a copy can be better than the original! Ac cobra comes to mind. Well done lads.

You can actually get pretty much any engine that can fit that's available to the public with this car, but you get the Alpha 166 running gear if you don't specify anything. Lister Bell will go out of their way to equip the vehicle to meet the customer's needs.

Well, if its a kit car, you're building it yourself, instead of a dissatisfied Italian building it with one hand, smoking with the other, all whilst listening to a union agitator and thinking bitterly of his wife's lover. How could it not be better?
reply

This replica can easily be a better car than the
original which was a winner in rallying and a fail as a daydriver.
Hope Lister Bell has a low weight yet taking into account it can be powered by different engines of course.

Love it! I remember back in 1989, the chap who lived next door to the college i went to had an original, often parked on the street, a Mr R Atkinson. Along with his 8v Integrale, Bentley turbo and Aston.

The rally car was the best.
Looking but seemingly plagued with problems, cheaply made and certainly a bit dangerous. The kit would be much better l would think in learning from the past.

1: 47 the air intake is terrible. The Alfa V6 engine is amazing but its will be hot as hell in the engine bay, need to get a proper cold air intake. It looks like a good car though.

What are they like to live in? I'm only asking because if I bin the Mrs and sell the house I could probably afford a ready made one with a little bit of petrol money left over.

With shipping to the USA, what would the total price be? And would someone donate that amount to me? Prolonged silence -that's what I was afraid of. Oh well, a guy can dream.
reply

They came with a Ferrari v6. Supercharged. and turbocharged. That was the real innovation. The body was just a puffed up fiat x19. I would actually prefer a Dallara X19.
