Most people in the comments trying to put the Tesla down, glossing over the fact that it's a saloon car. They weren't even trying to make a sports car. They're going to keep getting better too. The new Tesla Roadster is set to be the fastest production car across the board with the longest range of any sports car. This isn't even supposed to be the fast Tesla.

Tesla saloons won't replace supercars, although it is amusing how they can out accelerate them - What's the P100Ds 0-60? 2. 4 seconds or something? - but they WILL replace all the god-awful diesels that have been stinking out our towns and cities with their carciogenics for the last decade or two. That day can't come fast enough as far as I'm concerned.

I have lost my religion and found a new faith! Knowing EVs can perform so well, with no fuss like an IC engine car. Well, it kind of makes all the DOHC, direct injection, multi-spark ignition seem a bit primitive in comparison. We might as well be driving steam cars. My next car just might be electric.

Tesla won? Rubbish. This was rigged for a specific outcome for publicity bias! Had I been in the McLaren myself, I would have put the SmackDown on that Tesla.

Teslas are just much better cars in every sense. and that was not even the P100D, and the Model S is a factory sedan, against a super sports car, imagine the Model S a bit modified to be faster and w/o a speed limiter. Electric motor eats ICE for snack after breakfast.

Cant believe the p85d won, whats even more pathetic is that that's one of Teslas slowest performance cars. They still have a p90d and a p100d which get significantly faster by the model.
