No thanks. This car is a massive 385 kg heavier than the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport. Two very similar sized cars. The Polo GTI is nearly 40% heavier! You just cannot ignore a weight difference like that. Everybody knows weight is king. The new Swift Sport will have an agility that the Polo just can't match. If you're a poser that wants a fast hatchback cruiser - buy the Polo. However, if you really want to have fun get something else that hasn't been munching at Greggs all day long. I know which one I would choose for fast back road / semi track work.

Is the Polo GTI not a popular car in the UK? All these ppl hating on the Polo's looks, size, weight etc. It's like ppl just want something to hate on, and whine about. Personally I think it looks, sounds and drives amazingly. I'm so surprised they put the 2. 0 Tsi engine with the wet clutch of the DSG6. It's a blast to drive, and makes all the right noises. Suspension is sorted as well: ) I've owned, BMWs, Mustangs, Jaguars, and smaller hatchbacks and this GTI makes me feel all excited: )

I'm sorry but Renault Clio sport was making 147kw from a 2. 0 engine how many years ago. with no turbo. when is vw gonna start making power? Clio trophy 220 is making something like 7kw less than a golf gti? new fiesta makes this power now from a 1. 5 3 cylinder?

Back in 2006, when VW introduced the more powerful 177bhp Mk4 Polo GTI Cup Edition, how come they didn-t offer that version in the UK? (I might be wrong)
My guess is that they didn-t want it to cannibalise Mk5 Golf GTI sales in the UK at the time.
