Autocar gets behind the wheel of the new 2020 Mini Electric, the battery electric vehicle from MINI that will compete with the new Honda e. Is it too much money and have too small a range? Or does it have the charm and driver appeal you'd expect of a MINI. Find out in our first drive review

I sorta get it. I mean any Mini is pretty horrible car to roadtrip. And expensive. In just doodling in town and looking hip it should work. Not for me, but I kind of get why someone would get one.
So in paper it makes absolutely no sense what so ever. However as Mini it's not half bad.

I think it might be a decent buy as a short distance commuter in 5 years pre-owned. The i3 is a great deal now and i believe the Mini will be as well. I sure wont be buying one new though. I look forward to possibly buying one in the future to replace my '12 S.

So it is quite literally a Mini but electric. When will someone A: Release an electric sports car or fun handling electric car that B: Is not crazy expensive. Finally C: Where do we charge it? Seems to be taking forever!

-only 154kg heavier-. so a 15% weight gain is little? Slower, heavier, more expensive Mini is not an improvement. Just get an i3. At least that has are as an excuse for. It's poor battery performance and range.

it took you halfway through the video to even start talking about the battery capacity and range. this is the most important piece of info for an EV review, just get it out of the way at the beginning.

One of these would be perfect for me as I rarely travel more than 80 miles at a time and I could have my modded R53 as a travel car. omg that would be so cool.
SOMEONE MAKE MY DREAM COME TRUE PLEASE!

Last year's Mini with raised suspension and old I3 94Ah tech not even the current I3 120Ah battery. The only thing new is the dashboard. To say this car is a disappointment is an understatement.

Why can-t we get wireless or inductive charging option. You could have the plate installed on your drive or garage and it would take the hassle out of plugging it in.

Stop talking about headline prices! The vast majority of UK retail purchases are lease and PCP so monthly rental much more appropriate to be comparing

Because its a Mini, really? if it was the original mini Yes I would but does this look anything like as cute n lovable as the original mini?
