Don't listen to these so called 'drivers' explaining snap oversteer. They have no clue of the car's dynamics and engineering like Porsche engineers do.
It's a PROVEN platform, and is still spinning heads as the cars become better, and newer chassis platforms/variants release from Porsche. They had a special on the GT2RS and how it just flat out WORKS, its true, and whoever says differently just doesn't have a clue.
As for 'snap oversteer', there is no such thing. My RUF GT2 lives on the track

Absolutely, it's not dangerous and indeed gives the car amazing character and feel, my Carrera is a 3. 6 on 18 inch wheels and standard suspension, it has DFi (Direct fuel Injection) and I get 30mpg, that's a combined realworld figure, the tyres on the rear are 265's so it moves about a bit more a lower speeds compared to say an S or GT3, it's quick enough to get me into trouble with the police! but tax and insurance is semi-affordable, Hope you get a chance to drive one soon.

totally agree. you hit it on the head. AWD, double clutch auto gear boxes, traction control, esm, the list goes on. ferrari and lambo esp are going all techy and taking away the driving experience away from the driver with all of these aids. people talk so much shit about how porsche isnt in the same league are ferrari and lambo, but like you said, porsche is a mans cars, a drivers car, one that still takes skill to master and control.

yeah it's alright, It more of an M car than the m3, it doesn't look like or really drive like a real sports car though. no one's gonna put a poster of a bmw 1m on their wall. they don't excite like a purpose built sports car. it's great but it's a jacked up regular car. I wish bmw would make a real sports car again like the old M1.

This is an instant classic. If you could buy one you'd never lose financially. Only 600 made worldwide. Bound to increase it's value better than just about anything else in the next 20-50 years. Be a shame not to drive it though! If I was mega rich I'd buy two. One to drive and the other to put in a Time Capsule.

I was just noting that the back end still has some weight to it when you snap to oversteer (pendulum effect. I know because I am on my second 911! I still love them though. and balance has nothing to do with traction. of course traction is better it has an engine right over the driven wheels.

-simcity3000 That's a fair opinion. I think what bothers me most about paddle shifters is that many companies get rid of the manual option in favor of paddle shifters. A lot of people love manuals and I hate not being able to get a manual on a lot of great cars.
And this car is amazing.

Yeah fair enough, I haven't actually driven one yet (unfortunately. But I hear the pendulum problem was almost none existent in the 997 and gone even more so in the 991. Personally I love the rear engined layout over the others it just makes more sense to me as an engineer.

-KoukiMS6 LOL. what makes me sick are the haters that think you are automatically rich when you own one of these, I think in most cases it boils down to what you are willing to sacrifice to own one. that's also precisely why you wouldn't necessarily be rich.

-dudewuttheheck Well. about the paddle shifters is like the colors, everyone has a different opinion. In my opinion I prefer this option (paddle shifters, because they are faster than a manual and more comfortable in some situations! Bye: D
