-NOT- an SUV, and how can you list a load of soft-roaders as in the same class - then omit the Panda 4x4? OK, ok - Panda not in same league, but I'd put money on it ahead of Captur, _et al_ you did namecheck. Both are vehicles for people who need -genuine- off-road capability in a small package, and the lifestyle & on the limit metrics are -irrelevance-. In an age where mfrs seem intent on inventing niches, you seem to miss the obvious point that here is a naturally occurring one being perfectly catered for - and I bet if you asked the owners, they'd quite happily do without most of the lane-departure warning & other gubbins that everything these days has to be festooned with.

The whine in 4low is not 'differential' as he states. There is no central differential and engaging 4LOW has nothing to do with differentials front or rear. The whine you hear in low range is caused by (probably straight cut) reduction gears in the transfer case being engaged. These cog wheels are not being driven in 2H where the power being directly applied to the rear/ or 4H where it goes to rear and front axle.
The whine is coming from the extra gears being used to turn the wheels. Just like an econobox whines when driving in reverse.

He says if you drive it fast into a corner you'll be hanging on for dear life. He's comparing it's drive to a sports car.
Next time he gets a sports car, he should try driving it off-road and reviewing it compared to an 4x4.
Sure most of them will spend 99. 99% of their lives on tarmac but that 1 time you may be forced to drive through deep water or even up a muddy bank/ soft verge try doing that in a low slung 2wd car.

I kind of wish these were sold in the US. They'd sell well because they're cheap. A wrangler is WAY better, but a college kid who wants to go off road could get this, or the father who spends most of his money on his family. Or whatever. You get the point. Suzuki is really missing a market here, because in the US there's almost nothing besides old used vehicles to fill that niche

It's comments like -Visibility isn't too bad- that make you wonder about reviewers, it's a square box with next to no overhang, small pillars and cutaways to see more out of the bottom of front windows - name a current car with BETTER visibility? It's this faint praise where the same reviewer would be drooling over a German brand for the same things that looks biased.

It's really difficult to judge the road handling on the smooth German roads compared to the uk roads. in other words the roads in the UK are almost 3rd world in some places although we pay billions in taxes to maintain them. great video.

Are you being serious! A standard car could drive through that stuff! Why you feel the need to use low range is beyond me, why don-t you actually take it off road? You so called professional road testers make me laugh

it's sad that every country out there got it except for US. few suv now have front solid straight axle. on top of that this suv gets awesome mpg, and a price of a honda civic.

Is this car economical with 1. 5 petrol? I own a Suzuki Samurai 1996 with 1. 5 diesel engine and its very economical, but i doubt how much petrol would be.
