On the surface, the Ford Mustang Bullitt doesn-t appear to offer a whole lot extra above and beyond what you get from a standard V8 GT. To see out whether or not this new Mustang can live up to its legendary name, we sent Steve 'McQueen' Sutcliffe to find out

From an american to you europeans, the bullitt mustangs stand the test of time. They're worth the money. 15 years down the line, you'll remember this car, and it will hold it's value better than a regular gt. Of course, that's if ford doesn't build one every year.

Finally some ones who actually pushed the car to the max, I personally have drove all years of the mustangs and the way Ford has stuck true to the old hot rod muscular DNA of the Buillet is true American sports car the sound notes are to perfection

I'm surprised that Europeans like this car, and am shocked that Ford released it there. I travel to Europe periodically, and the Mustangs is a complete departure from what you commonly see on European roads.

None of these production Bullitts can be compared to the movie original. That car was stripped and modified for the stunts, nothing like the production cars. You're basically comparing them to a myth.

It sounds like sweet music to my ears and great detail. Indeed, a true nod to the original. Love that V8 growl, it sounds virtually like the 1968 one that the late Steve McQueen drove.

I just bought one and it's everything stated here and more. I love the way it drives, sounds and feels, it will put a smile on your face too once you're behind the wheel.
reply

Loving it! Just can't judge how it would compare to a 2L (G160) Miata ND on the driving fun factor axis? Surely wins on noise and acceleration, but on pure driving?

As an American in the Midwest, I don-t hear the word Proper nearly often enough. That-s why I watch brit car reviews for proper wordplay.

Saw one yesterday. I not a petrol head but I was blown away by the Bullitt. It is my dream to own one. I never will, but I can dream.
reply

I find it humorous that the Euro Mustangs are a little bit neutered compared to the full fat outputs we get in North America.
