The new, 2022 Range Rover might just be the best car in the world. Steve Fowler gets behind the wheel in this review to explain why. Range Rovers don-t come around very often. Over the car's 50-year lifespan, this new model is just the fifth iteration of the iconic 4x4. The original Range Rover was conceived as the ultimate lifestyle SUV; luxury came later. The latest version is tasked with reinventing the genre yet again, with luxury, technology and design to the fore. There'll be two plug-in hybrid versions on offer - both using a 3. 0-litre straight-six petrol engine with up to 503bhp available. Mild-hybrid tech will also be an option with a pair of 3. 0-litre six-cylinder diesels and a petrol version as well. Top of the range will be a twin-turbo 4. 4-litre V8 petrol pumping out 523bhp. From 2024 the range will include a fully-electric model. Steve Fowler delves into the design, interior, technology and driving experience of the all-new Range Rover in this first drive review enriqueali: Not as sporty as a Porsche Macan, not as luxurious as a Bentley Bentayga or a RR Cullinan, not as fast as a Lamborghini Urus, not as rugged or reliable as a Toyota Land Cruiser. A triumph of minimalist style over true substance. They'll still sell a shitload of these though, in places like Bel Air, Palm Beach, Dubai etc. Very few are likely to veer off smooth tarmac into the wild

I know you are English and find it your duty to support the UK car industry but there is no need to lie anymore. Land Rover is owned by TATA and Indian firm. Rolls Royce is owned by BMW. Bentley is owned by Volkswagen. The vehicle is a looker but its reliability makes it undesirable; I doubt this model will be more reliable with the added technology. I wish those that buy it great patience because they will need as they fight all the problems with the dealers who many times try and blame the owner for many of the defaults trying to squeeze an extra buck or two out of the owners. This time around I will truly -enjoy- this vehicle from a distance admiring owners and their patience. I ran out of patience and time for this automotive firm a long time ago.

The slab constituting the rear reminds me of a hearse. I think the side view of the rear half is ugly, a brick if not a hearse. Diesel in 2022? What's the CO2 emission. Who is going to take this expensive monster cross-country? How about inner city parking - two spaces required? A good car to pop down to the supermarket? The cramped rear leg room was presumably because 7 seats were down. If I remember correctly, Range Rovers are amongst the most unreliable cars on UK roads according to Which, the Consumer Association.

Overall the design is absolutely stunning. There-s nothing on the road that looks as good. Interesting mention about the mirrors and wind noise. I-m a Mercedes technician and the new GLS/GLE has an issue with whistling coming from the outside mirrors and an updated part was released for it. Sorta helped lol.

They really need to show some appreciation towards the Indian parent company TATA that has invested billions into Range Rover and Jaguar. Remember that under Ford ownership they destroyed the company until TATA from India rescued the company.

First time watching one of your reviews. It would be really nice if you were to place a camera somewhere near above your left ear. Because I also like to see how driving feels from an angle that points at the front of the car.

Had a RR for 10 years, 3 model generations (full size and sport) and this redesign sadly isn-t enough to keep me with the brand. I-m selling my 2020 RRS this week. Beautiful dream cars - a terrible nightmare to own

Does it have DMS provided by Seeing Machines? No, so to claim it has the latest technology is a bit of a stretch, lovely car though but will be out of date very soon with regards to driver and passenger safety.

why dont they address reliability? that's what's keeping SO many people from buying one. we dont need more stitching and wood we need something that can last more than 5, 000miles

An awesome attempt, looks incredibly good. BUT! This has got the deservedly worst reliability reputation IN THE WORLD! Best car? Never. Best car you should never buy? Absolutely.
