I have worked on one Jeep and if getting into heaven requires me to work on another I will gladly take the other. My great niece has a Jeep 4x4 something or another (SUV. Her ipl light was on so I checked it out. It had a bad oil pressure sensor. My brother, her father lives in NC. When he came up st Christmas he then we changed it. It is on the dide of the block with no way to get to it from underneath because of the front suspension. To get to it from the top we had yo remove the radiator overflow tank, the windshield ff
Luid tank. The belt, fan shroud just to be able to get a hand down there. You then had to get back to the sensor which you couldn't see what you were doing. I may have invented some new sweat words. It was a total nightmare for such a simple part that should take minutes to change. My brother osned it before his grand daughter. I asked him how do you change yhe oil filter. It was behind the sensor and impossible to get anything including s hand to change it. The only way to get it out after you unscrewed it is to somehow get it all the way up by the radiator and even then getting it down through the trans cooler lines, radiator hose ECT would take David Cooperfield. You'd also get an oil shower

My son told me a cat jumped out in front of him when turning into a housing complex. I didn't buy his B/S and went to where he said it happened. No skid marks but nearby were skid marks where he jumped the curb with rt front and rt rear ($6K in damage in 1999. I took his license for a year and if he need a ride, call one of his buddies that helped him lie. Wreck the car, leave the scene, drive the car to the point of taking all the outside tread off the tire (about 20 miles, then tell me that some of the damage was already there. That, already there just about got him killed but the lie is what got his license taken away for a year.

im glad you’re son is ok it’s a unfortunate and painful life lesson on what not to do coming from a very difficult and life changing accident that forever changed my understanding of how short life can be i truly hope that all is okay as my uncle was in the icu for 3 months and had to do a lot of rehabilitation after an is forever changed because of a bad decision from a tow truck driver during a white out blizzard condition that resulted in a bad head injury he’s lucky to have survived unfortunately a semi truck driver was not as lucky. He avoided hitting the back end of my uncles car an lost his life as a result

You need to think of yourself as a dentist no one really likes you except when there’s a problem. You have to diagnose issues which aren’t always easy to find. Once you find and repair the cause, then the cost to the patron is almost always too high (in their opinion. Then you hope that the needed maintenance will be done by the customer! At least with your situation, you don’t have a scared car looking up at you, waiting for you to reinforce their fears of pain from YOU! Be thankful you are an independent business and not dependent on insurance reimbursement which continually try to limit payment almost every year!

You know, Eric, you have told us many times that you don't get Ga, Ga over cars. You fix them and appreciate them for what they are; transportation. I find that refreshing. While you didn't say it on camera, I know you are deeply grateful that your son is O. K, because he will carry on the O name. You may say that Gavin is using the Shoedebakers, however, I think that he likely is getting some Tundra Time. George Strait said it best in his song: It's a love without end. Amen. Just be grateful he didn't burn the school down. GREAT VIDEO!

That CV Joint coming out of the Transfer case was beyond toast. Those clips in the front bumper panel are permanent they do not ever come out with out a drill: ) That ground behind the passenger headlight can cause all sorts of gremlins when green and corroded. I am past using MOPAR parts o the older Jeeps. Last time I went to get a thermostat housing. They sold me one for x amount, got home and opened up and it was a Doorman thermostat housing I could have went to the AutoZone a block away and got for half the price.

I put a set of hella horns on my wife’s work car. They really get your attention. Sadly some clown swerved out of the breakdown lane across the entire exit offramp and she ended up getting her car totaled. It was a Toyota matrix and a fun fact is that the very first S. Main auto video. I watched was doing transmission service on a Pontiac vibe and I use that video as a template to do the service on her matrix.
Why do they use long screws So you have to spend more money on tools that’s why.

Glad your boys ok spent a bunch of extra time yesterday making AA brake rotors not rub the backing plates on the rear of a 16 Tundra yeah there was definitely some old upstate NY words coming out of my mouth. The junk parts we have to work with will for sure make you grumpy. I won the battle, got paid, feel blessed. I resign myself to this realty Whoever thinks you're gonna make shop rate every hour you work ain't done this for a living. Only ones pullin that off are doctors, lawyers, politicians

Eric I said the same thing to My son when he trashed His car that We gave Him for Graduation! He drove it for about 2hrs and It was crashed along with 3 other parked cars that he managed to hit as He showed off to some Girls walking down the street! He looked at the Car after it was repaired $ 5000. 00 later as it went to it's new owner down the driveway. He worked the whole summer for the money to buy another car himself and He never wrecked that one! I say lesson Learned!

Just an observation: I see that you're spraying Fluid Film inside the wire connectors for the horn. According to their website, Fluid Film is non-conducting and can be used as a dielectric grease. Now, I (rightly) hear you railing on those who stuff dielectric grease on electrical connections thinking it will be a Good Thing, when in fact it is non-conducting and does nothing but make a mess. Perhaps a shot of Deoxit or similar would be the better choice

Grumpiness You never knew my dad. When he as partially grumpy we considered him happy.
From personal experience your son will learn a very valuable lesson from natural consequences. Happened to me - once. And, I learned. Applied same to our daughter - just needed once - and she learned. Not sure my granddaughter will have the opportunity to experience same. Life's lesson we all need.

My oldest son bought a 69 Cougar fixer. Worked on it all summer, drove it one day to school, and the next day was driving his younger brother and me, his mom, to grandma's when we were hit from behind by a car traveling 45 mph over the limit. Totaled my son's car. To this day, 15 yrs later, I still feel bad for my son losing his dream car to a speeding ahole.

The longer bolts were a mistake by the supply room robot, well actually the programmer, delivered to the assembly line on one Wednesday in 2014. Very rare! The correct bolts are included with the purchase of a new OEM pump. At the car show this is a 50 pt deduction and is one of the easiest things the more experienced judges will be looking for.

I just changed out the starter signal lug on my 96 Ranger with that exact same terminal lug but, after crimping I used my trusty mini torch to fill the remaining void with acid core solder and then shrink tubed it. The starter being underneath the engine with the lug facing forward is just begging for the green crusties! Great video, Eric!

The good thing about drifting around corners is you learn your limits. The bad thing about drifting around corners comes from not knowing your limits. Buddy should do that stuff in the parking lot, not on the road. Someplace where there is room to make mistakes. Glad he's okay and hope he's learned something here.

As a DIYer I have avoided buying OE parts for quite sometime, unless I need a sensor or some other part that makes a difference in actual vehicle performance. It baffles me as to why the OE parts prices are so Goddamn greedy high. You would think that OE prices would at least be more inline with the competitors pricing.

1: 50 At the risk of seeming pedantic, let's be clear about what the green crusties' are really made of; it's copper carbonate (CuCO3) that forms when the copper wires are exposed to water and air. You'll notice the same substance on copper-roofed, medieval buildings, and yes, I'm a chemistry teacher.

I remember my old man buying my brother a good first car soon after he became licensed to drive. My brother totaled that car almost immediately, and later a second good car. Needless to say, the third car the old man bought for him was a heap. i guess he figured he was going to tear iit up anyway.
