Eric Who remembers when a fuel pump was just a relay and a fuse. . Why they need Control Modules to eliminate fuel pressure return lines and pressure regulators when they worked just fine and were cheap/reliable and the regulator being up at the engine most of the time and vacuum driven rarely had problems, I don't know why they had to go and over complicate it. Also that many codes on a 9 year old vehicle is what scares me away from GM products. I don't care that the company is run by Engineers now. The stench of bean counters running that company is still pungent and very evident today still. Your local GM stealerships in Avoca / Bath or wherever it is in relation to you should be thanking you for keeping their heaps running when they can't fit them, and their stealerships employed with all the parts you buy from them to keep their heaps on the road! Thanks for another good video Eric O!

So the tariffs were intended to mitigate the discrepancy between import and export. Small businesses will go bankrupt because of the unforseen tariffs on goods already in transit. Companies that stay afloat will increase their prices (even when not imported, because they can. But no major manufacturer is going to invest billions based on rules that change every day, so keep dreaming about those manufacturing jobs.
Meanwhile the rest of the world gets pissed off and starts boycotting US products.
The only winners are the incrowd that make a killing on the stock market with the info Trump provides them.
Luckily he drained the swamp and got the prices down on this new thing called groceries

Just wait until you start getting vehicles that the fuel pump is 3phase. I think the biggest problem with GM right now is they severed ties with Bosch. So its been screwing everyone ever since, this was about a year go. If memory serves me right Keep this in mind after replacing the module and programing it, it may cause a check engine light with no dtcs. There is a tsb to unhook the battery for 15 minutes and its fixed, also reprogramming the ecm also fixes it.

I sometimes find parts using the older part numbers that have been superseded. Those fancy computer systems refer to the latest greatest piece of junk available. What they don't tell you is the dealers that have one of the older numbers in stock. All it takes is one diode supplier change and what do you know, a new part number. I haven't run into a problem yet. If each and every part number is unattainable then dorman it shall be.

In Europe Skoda were the joke car. It had however simple and robust engineering. The full pump had two bolts, a removable glass dome to see if it had fuel or debris in it AND a priming lever. So if you were unfortunate to run out of fuel you could clean the sludge from the tank out by removing the dome, blow out the gauze and then prime it. all without flattening the battery. Simple and smart engineering.
Heater was volcanic as well.

Interesting thing about the back ordered parts that I've noticed with my dealer (Mazda, after the pandemic almost all our parts, even today, show a back order with no eta or a six week plus eta and yet once ordered most parts will show up in a couple days. We've been suspecting that parts are limited and to keep dealers from hording parts they show a back ordered status. This is only a guess but seems logical. Hope you can give us a part 2

We went from jelly bean off the shelf connectors, relays and I/O units to proprietary, non-serviceable, single run of production from a 3rd party.
It didn’t even matter if the older stuff was flimsier, you could walk into any parts store in the world and have options. Now anything 6 years out from production date has no after sales support and you can’t even jerryrig it.

It's like the CIC fired from the hip before anyone had a chance to explain that it would cripple the industries, not make them great again. Strange. That is, unless someone worked out that if you crash the market and then pause the T word it will bounce back and you can make an absolute killing on the stock market. Not very illegal at all really

Just had this same issue with our work truck except the truck would die from lack of fuel. It took 4 months and the last two chassis control modules in the country along with an engineer from GM to tell us it was a broken wire from the module to the fuel pump. truck was out of service from the start of December until last week.

I don't want to get political, sadly it is what it is. America freedom is no more because people refuse to vote. Really people, how can America ever be a government of the people, when the people themselves don’t vote on every election day I voted for the woman and not for the worst that humanity has to offer Have a nice day

I remember changing fuel pumps all the time as a kid, so when I was like yeah that’s pretty easy and then the manual is like the fuel pump is actually located behind your eyeand a little doll rolled out i decided that since I’m lazy I’ll drop it off at the dealership

I should start a business grabbing good, used modules from non-rustball trucks down here in the South and ship them up to the PRNY. I can't imagine a used module off a truck that's spent its life up there would be any good, but the ones down here probably still are.

So you have a Global A vehicle, where GM says not to install used modules, as it can brick every module in the car. but they stopped selling modules for these cars, making a 9-year-old car worthless. Doing a great job of creating new Toyota customers.

I went on to my local library account and accessed free online auto repair source and viola the exact same service data as you were using and that surprised me. I was able to follow along on the same wiring diagram. Nice! That pocket scope sure is handy!

Congratulation Eric, Although this was a relatively easy dragnosis(for you. It may mark the pinnacle of your mastery of the YT algorithm. Tariffs! Thank you so much for being you! Truthfully, I would watch you do commentary of snow falling.

Heres your problem Mister. Well maybe. In the past somone replaced the module And then never got it programmed. Then you would have all the symptoms seen showed on this truck. Even the spare tire ripped out to acess the module.

The issue with not being able to get the part has nothing to do with the Tariffs it the fact that they all buy the parts from China so they can profit more. If it was make here you’d be able to get no matter what the tariffs are m!

That's when you head south and buy something with an Ash Tray. I know I know not funny but vehicles with Ash Trays stand a chance of not having modules but the ash tray would be a back ordered unobtanium order too.

Please help me - I think I missed something. You tested at the connector to the module and CANBus High and Low looked ok. How did we rule out a bad wire back to the main box from the module for CANBus High and Low
