Replace Battery - Dodge Stratus
video description
The worse one I had, I wish I knew what I did with the picture, you'd get a chuckle from it.
OVER 2 INCHES THICK OF GREEN AND WHITE CORROSION on the plus and minus cables! ! The plus cables had to be replaced, the ends were gone! The negative took some cleaning, but it worked.
The tray, brackets, bolts, etc were bead blasted and repainted with Rustoleum black paint, and FINALLY all put back together!
This vehicle had several Periodic Maintenance Inspections or P. M. I. 's before I got it, so the saying that day was. P. M. MY ASS! Memories. Great Video!

I've got a 2001 and replaced the original battery about a year ago. I hesitated replacing the battery for a long time thinking it was going to be hard. After finally replacing the battery I realized it was simple and now I think this is actually a great place for a battery. One little problem, maybe because the battery lasted about 18 years in a better environment than on top, was that the negative cable was welded to the battery. Had to take out the battery with the cable and saw off the battery terminal.

It's a thing called money. Average driver wont want to go through the trouble of changing the battery and would rather pay someone else to do it, they will shop it for that. Dodge knew this. Inconvenient for you, yet profitable for them it is a business

They put it in the wheel well to seperate it from the engine heat. They failed to consider The pain in the ass factor The well being or stress of the owner should take priority over The well being of a heat stressed battery.

LOL, every comment is negative towards this piece of shit car and its battery placement. I have a 2004 and was puzzled today when looking for the battery. Went right to YT to find it. Waterboard the engineers.

I might be the only one in the comments, but I prefer the battery to be in this location. If you are engineer t makes sense because you dont have to run complicated wiring to the rear of the vehicle.

thank you so much for this! I have a Dodge Stratus and when I found out where the battery was I was flabbergasted. Glad I know where it is and can now change it if I need to.
