A quick safety reminder for those working on ramps or jack stands with the rear or front on the ground. Keep in mind that if you have it in gear, once you disconnect the driveshaft (propeller shaft, the car is no longer being held by the transmission. Use your parking brake, or even better, have all corners on jack stands so the car isn't tilted and also you can spin the propeller shaft to get to all the bolts holding it.

28: 43 the sound effect after the story effectively worked as a jump scare for me. On another note my pilot bearing is toasted too, I had to think about it a bit but I was neglecting the pilot bearing, doesn't seem mission critical as it is but alas I heard her making noise and with your video It totally makes sense just wasn't taking into consideration that it could have went nuclear.

I am asking for a friend whom watches your repair shop movies here on YouTube. She is afraid to ask because most humans think it's ridiculous for a woman to inquire about clutches. Hey have an old 96 f250 and she burned clutch while stuck in the mud.
Her friend recommended a Galeo clutch. Is that a good brand or would something like this Luk be better?

I used to use a sander to take the glaze off the flywheel on the car. Sometimes packing grease behind the old pilot bearing tobdrive it out with a pin that fit the hole in the center. Rear wheel drive clutches in them small cars were pretty easy. Front wheel drive manual transmissions were a little more difficult. Nice job Eric. You make it look easy.

i know this is an old video, but it would have made life a lot easier if you would have just removed the 4 bolts holding the trans to the bellhousing. that's the same basic t-5 that came in most fox bodies and sn-95 cars

I'm so scared man I'm 500 miles away from home with a bad pilot bearing and can barely shift. Gotta drop the transmission in the Walmart parking lot I'm so broke. Thanks for the video helped a lot

Corvettes use the similar type of hydraulic throw out bearing, but they have a lot of problems with clutch debris contamination of fluid, if cars are driven hard, a real problem!

It's good your using cleaner on the bearings etc. I myself would just use a rag with cleaner on it. To each to there own. Good Job on the dealing each tare down thole.

Good, fast job=, one thing: you did NOT put Locktite on crankkshaft bolts? I think you should? / Just wondering, what was torque fro those bolts? Thanks, youtheman =)
