My 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 work truck, had both front driver and passenger door handles break, within a week of each other. I know exactly what ya was talking aboot, when you said there is this button here at the bottom. Not knowing how to pull the assembly apart, I too look at the little button underneath trying to figure out whats its purpose.
I shovel snow for living, we went through a week of snow plus -30 or colder. I believe it was the In and out in and out, in that cold temperatures that did in the aluminum handle to have both handles break within a week. Pick N Pull was my saving grace on costs, in the repairs. Outside my regular job title, if something breaks. My booss instructions are: First, identify the problem. Second, find a temporary solution. Thirdly, get costs of repairs. Parts, labour if I dont feel I cant do it myself.
Temporary solution. ripped the door panel off. The one whom broke the door handle had to pull on the cable to open the door.
GM had melted plastic holding the handle assembly to the door panel. I just drilled away the melted plastic to remove the broken assembly. To reattach the used handles I used nuts and bolts. It not a pretty fix but it works.

Smoker here. I know this is a 3 year old video, but you're correct. Many smokers vent their windows about an inch to draw out the smoke at speed; unfortunately, it seems the rain always aggregates over the switch module and drips directly onto the switches (2012 Altima in my case. Same thing on my 2005 F-150. Water lands RIGHT on the power window switches unless you have vent-visors on the car. You can apply force, so they're in hard mode, but this is super common. That being said, I'd bet the unlock failure at the switch was just a time-out for anti-theft purposes, as it triggers a module to perform the unlocking.

Same thing on my 2005 F-150. Water lands RIGHT on the power window switches unless you have vent-visors on the car. You can apply force, so they're in hard mode, but this is super common. That being said, I'd bet the unlock failure at the switch was just a time-out for anti-theft purposes, as it triggers a module to perform the unlocking.

Exactly, they get primo prices on pick-ups but the parts are really cheapened up. I worked in a GM sourcing plant and we made the key-fobs for 0. 59 and the dealer charged 100 for them. We won the contract from another supplier by knocking off 3. 00 each. Also we had automated our plant for the ECM and the product had 159 functions for 71. Over the years we kept making better cheaper products thru smaller parts and yet GM shut down the plant after the Toyota contract expired. and torn down the building. 2010

I always wonder why people have so many problems with a low mileage truck. What are they doing? Because I know piles of people with the same trucks, yet they go 100k, 200k, 300k with no problems. Did they just get a dud? Could be, every company makes them. Yes, even Hondas. I've seen problems with some of all of them. While I do know GM isn't building trucks like they use to and no one else is either. They are all over priced. Just that many problems at once is very odd for anybody.

door actuators from GM. I learned the hard way trying to save a few bucks buy getting Chinese replacements. Within a year I had to replace the actuator. So, The firs actuator lasted about 5/6 years from OEM, the second from China lasted less than 1 year, the third one from GM is still working as of 10/2019.

Need some help, I have a 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 5. 3L drivers door actuator if I have my test light on grey and tan it doesn't light up if I put it to ground and tan it lights up. Does that mean my grey wire has a break in it. I also can't program new remote because it won't go into learning mode. Please help

Another problem Ive had with my Silverado doors is filling up with water. The drains plug up and if youre parked on any sort of downslope, Ive had them almost fill all the way up in a heavy downpour. Back doors are the worst, and if you dont open them often, you wont notice it.

You have to leave the windows open a lil in the Trailblazer or the inside ceiling fall's down the plastic window plastic trim falls down because of heat. The fuel pump fails after 100, 000 miles chevy not the same any more alot of them like Cadillac made in china.

I have 2001 Mazda Tribute with over 230K miles and everything works. I wouldn't own a GM anything even if you gave it to me.

I have a problem with my oil gauge inside my truck 2008 oil gauge is funny and when I click on the monitor shows 26% oil left in engine but my oil dipstick says full how do I check the sensor
