With the Dodge Caravans you loosen up the passenger side axle nut go over to the driver side pull the lower ball joint pull the transmission mounts put a jack under the transmission push the transmission over with a ratchet strap to the frame it should give you 3 to 4 inches of room where you can maneuver the motor out thats all I have done it and its work twice for me theres a little bit more involved but youll see as you go along doing itAnd you got to take the radiator out with the Fan

I had days when I, d see maybe 5 Chrysler vans in a row. I replaced a 3, 8 when a quick lube broke the oil sensor next to the oil filter and all the oil escaped. I burned it later changing her rear shocks but i just gave her the one in the yard growing on a tree. Yeah they were everywhere 10 years ago!

After putting in a low mileage used engine in my car and now rebuilding my original motor, I will never put a used motor in. Sure, I will pay more but at least I know the engine was rebuilt correctly.

This might show some people what's involved in an engine swap. Instead of simply saying yeah, just go ahead and change it, and come back tomorrow looking to see if it's done. Been there.

And I think youre thinking about the olds Mobile vans because the nose in the windshield is so long I think the call comes off so you can take the motor out the top

The last Caravan I pulled an engine on I removed the quarter panels and radiator. Engine came right out, plus it was faster to access

Did you happen to notice the handle flex on that 2 ft ratchet handle when you did the bolts on that crossover pipe, impressive.

I have a 02 and on it the metal by the windshield comes off also the power steering pump is tightly in the left back corner.
