Rubber boot polyethylene off-gassing, during the vulcanization process. When those were made in the U. S. an oxidizer was applied to the boot afterwards processing which would neutralize much of the odor, the Chinese stuff though, I think they skip the oxidizer all together, probably. 02 cents more profit lol. But yeah the odor can be pretty intense, you might notice it anywhere there is a lot of new, small power equipment that has Chinese tires mounted on them as well.

Dude, honestly, adding anything other than a joke or two is detrimental to keeping your viewers riveted. No offense but without the interactions with your woman, this video couldve been 8 minutes shorter. I say that respectfully cause I like your work, but I dont watch reality tv, and it seems that is where youre headed.

My first Toyota had the passenger side axle fall off, the support bearing had only been on with the alignment pins as it turned out. I was lucky it didn't fall of far from home. I had driven that car a lot already and not always in the most forgiving environments either, should one have their car break down there.

Wow. I got a black 01 EM2 (like in video )
And I tried teaching my girlfriend to drive stick in mine and snapped the axle I been thinking its a clutch the past month. (Just like the video)finally jacked it up and sure then shit its snapped exactly how it is shown here. Unreal but Im not complaining lol

It's not just you. There posts online of others smelling the same thing. Usually with an Advanced Auto Parts CV Shaft, like the one you have there. And seems to be predominantly the new ones. But I only did a quick search, so it might be happening at other companies, as these days suppliers are limited.

You should have just gone ahead and replaced the clutch, a more expensive job. Then give the car back to the customer. Then he brings it back to you and asks you to find the problem and only then you discover the CV halfshaft and replace it lol

I took someone's car to get an alignment n here I'm doing 50 the brand new CV axle the guy put on it n got online snapped in half. Had to get the wreaker
