we replace the front pads and rotors on a 2013 Non-Hemi Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. It is pretty routine just as we have shown in many other videos Bullmoose: Eric, I know this is an old video and you probably won't read my comment, but. I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge, experience, and technique with us. You've saved me so much money and given me an invaluable education in how to take care of my own vehicle within the bounds of my capability. You saved me hundreds of dollars on a brake job on my Hemi Ram, and I know it's done right with far more attention than any parts swapper is going to do at the local swap shop. I've done my own brakes for years, but I had no idea the proper lubrication points and the fine detail stuff. Makes all the difference in the world. Seriously man, can't thank you enough.

Just did the front pads on my Ram replaced the hardware cleaned and lubed everything up like you did, is there any reason why my brakes sound like they are slightly grinding when I come to a complete stop after going down a very steep hill? I used there Wearever Platinum that came with the hardware I also checked my rears too see if the pads are worn down but they have a lot of meat on them so Im stumped?

Bendix Westinghouse brake school do not recommend and actually they do not recycle brake fluid that is old in other words open your brake bleeder then collapse the piston for your disc brakes as old brake fluid has been heated and cooled many times and collects moisture when you push it back it can cause problems in your master cylinder!

As always Eric, thank you for another great instructional video and a bit of entertainment.
I enjoy brakes, shocks, ball joints, tie-rods, universal joints, CV axles, and just about anything suspension associated. I guess I enjoy just about everything!
Thanks again and say hello to everyone on your end!

You need a spray wash that's driven over to remove that salt. Since the city/county put it down, have your driveway slightly higher at the shop. So all the salt and water run back to the street where it belongs! Not a long carwash, just a quick spray under the vehicle. Another Great Video!

Hey Eric - I did a brake service on my 17 Ram 1500 - got a lot of tips from this vid. I was reading service info on alldatadiy - they say to toss the caliper holder bracket bolts and install new wjen changing rotors - is that really necessary? Seems wasteful.
Thanks,
Will

Eric, Ive gone through 4 sets of premium rotors and pads by autozone on my odyssey in 2 years. Every replacement is due to shimmy or steering shake during braking. Any tips? I am really frustrated and have even replaced calipers with same results. Appreciate any insight

I'm interested on how he is so knowledgeable, and yet he is using the wrong lubricant.
The type of grease he is using is only for metal to metal contact
and yet, he is using it on everything, including rubber to metal contact points.

Im surprised it took this long for some major lubricant manufacturer to come out with a competitor to Fluid Film. Interested if anyone has any long term experience with the WD-40 spray goop.
