I replace the rear parking brake shoes on a 2009 Hyundai Sonata. It is a fairly simple straight forward task and is the same on most vehicles with rear disc brakes. Jose: Fantastic video and thanks for sharing just what I was looking for, but what is the gray stuff you put with a little brush on it, regards and for sure I will be looking for more videos from you in future repairs.

Just did parking brake on Kia and never knew they had to be broken in. They are just used for parking so I didnt do the burn in and they work fine. Biggest pain was new adjusters were wider than oem ones and drums wouldn't slide over shoes. After cleaning oem adjusters and lubing up with anti seize and grease they installed fine and could again reinstall rotors/ drums again. Should've bought oem hardware kit instead of Dorman.

You keep saying you don't have a TV but make many references to television shows as you work. Those tiny drum-type parking brakes are a joke. Almost all cars now use disc brakes because they provide better braking but they revert to old technology in a much smaller size to use as a parking/emergency brake.

my 2011 has U-clips to hold the shoes instead of the normal cups on this '09. The U-clips are a big pain in the hooey for me to get compressed and removed from the pin. That round cup on the spring is so much easier to deal with. Why did they do change it!

Love your videos have you done e brake and shield replacement on f350? Im doing it on a 2000 excursion. Same thing we need a good video and advice with torque specs. Especially the hub nut. Done wrong it can kill you. Thanks.

Hyundai ix35 has the same rear breaks, if the parking break works fine and has enaugh material left, can you leave the drum brake pads in when you change the rotors and pads?

Eric, my SMA coffee cup arrived yesterday. All I need is a matching Snuggie and I'm set for a weekend of binge watching your videos. Thanks for making the cups available.

Eric, this was an awesome video. I wish you had this video out a year ago when I did the rear brakes on my 09 Sonata. You made it look effortlessly easy. Thanks again
