All Jeep owners and fanatics will swear that nothing ever breaks in a Jeep. They are the best selling vehicles and retain 85% of resale value. Most Jeep owners will buy another one despite the constant issues and recalls. As someone that learned about car repairs from my friends at our local garage, I saw a large number of Jeeps roll through every week and the average repair bill was over 550. I don't get it at all. But I guess it's a Jeep thing. which I could apply to so many things after working on them. The sheer delusions that a lot of Jeep owners share about their cars is amazing. Those figures I quoted in the beginning are actual things Jeep owners have told me on comments when pointing out Jeeps have a plethora of issues. They don't believe anything Jeep has negative and will quote you every JD Power award. All vehicles have recalls and mechanical problems in Jeeps are rare and easy to fix.

Eric just a question I have all ways thought I had to disconnect battery and allow capacitors to drain down for the prior to doing any work in or around steering column is this not the case? All Data as well as most software tells you to do this not being critical just looking to save a step or 2 in my shop I have had vehicle that needed inspection as well as other work such as multi function switch and have had to do the drive cycle due to me disconnecting battery.

Sadly the new DeWALT DCL050 light worked well for the job, it is not camera friendly. The flicker did not show up until I was editing. It makes the frame rate look really slow. Thought I'd throw this up here before I got thousands of comments. Guess I'll be throwing it on the back burner in future vids. Good thing DeWALT is #notasponsor.

Also, the turn signal switch. If you hold the switch in the turn mode while turning the steering wheel past the click off point, it may shear off a little plastic tab in the switch and then won't cut off automatically anymore. I had a Plymouth van with a bad transmission so I pulled the switch from it and did a swap.

Nice of Chrysler/Fiat/Jeep to sell just the guts. I was expecting you to have to buy the entire lock housing and take the column apart. Nice camera angle. Didn't notice any DeWalt light flicker. I also enjoyed Ms. Marie's play by play commentary at beginning. She's adorable.

I have some Generation III Chrysler T&Cs with similar ignition switches. The switches seem to be very high quality. I had a start problem with one of the T&Cs, but it turned out to be the BCM. I did try the switch replacement, but it just wasn't that simple.

Great help for a present intermittent problem I'm having. Sometimes the key just won't turn from the off/lock position. I assumed (we never should say that hey, that it was the lock barrel, but maybe its the ignition switch. hmmm, Investigation required.

You mentioned no blinking security light. Mine does this at times while also hearing a buzzing noise coming from the fuse panel below the steering wheel. Any experiences with this? 2008 Jeep commander.
