I bring you along as I knock out a front wheel bearing. Not a bad job but getting the lower ball joint out in the rust belt without destroying it can have its challenges

I wonder if the tried-and-true WTDR method we use on Hondas for breaking the lower ball joint loose would work on this car. Jack up the lower control arm, stick a 1/2 ratchet handle in between the LCA and that lower pinch bolt on the knuckle, then let the jack loose. The downward force of the strut spring is usually enough to force the ball joint stud loose from the control arm tapered hole. Although with all the rust who knows if that would work here.

14: 53 has he ever talked about Vinny in depth? Can someone link a video for me? I always see him honking at Vinny and always saying, He never waves. -_- and sometimes you see him in the shop just sitting there next to the wheel balancer. what's his story Mr O?

Be careful how you treat Mrs O, I darned sure never got my drill bits delivered. It's a rare thing, trust me on that.
If I were in your shoes, I'd let her carry the bits however she cares to and bend the lid on the index back later!

i wish my 98 legacy outback was this easy to change the bearings, mine are pressed in. bolt in would be so nice. I wonder is there is a way to interchange or swap spindle knuckles to a newer year.

That's why Subaru's are inexpensive and built to stay that way. those PITA designed front ends. PS I live in Honolulu and no rust. I can remove those bolts with a Vise-Grip, yuk yuk yuk.

Do I want a lift? Yes!
Heck, a previous owner ran a shop out of the garage so it has mounting points for a lift on the floor already.
Do I have the money for a lift? Sadly, no.

We just bought a new alignment rack at our garage. They sure don't give those things away. I asked the salesman if he wanted to sponsor one of his racks? He gave me a puzzled look! lol.

The fact that your willing too spend extra money too make your customer experience better speaks volums of ur work ethic. Your a great buisness owner. Good job man

You dont have to separate the ball joint to remove the axle. If you remove the strut to knuckle bolts theres enough clearance to get it out of the way
