Hoping to use this video as a quick reminder that before you get to involved in any repair just give things a quick look. Don't touch but just look. You never know, sometimes you can strike gold and get right to the root cause or at least find some good direction

Hey Eric, where were you? I just watched 3 episodes of Ivan working through a horrible mess of a motor home. Kudos to Ivan for systematically working through the many problems and fixing them. I so would have loved you to have been there to listen to your comments. It was a real mess and he was flying blind with no wiring diagrams to help.
I have been doing mechanical work for 55 years. Can I say when doing an engine or transmission swap I keep some longer SAE and Metric bolts handy with my tools. I TOTALLY agree with you to never tighten the bell housing bolts until it is properly mated. I have found that putting in a couple of longer bolts first to line things up, especially on manual transmissions, makes it easy to mate the bell housing. Then put your bell housing bolts in and remove your longer alignment bolts.
Love your work,
Rick Polley,
Melbourne, Australia.

I have been living in the faith that the O2 sensor pipes its reference air through the sheath (yellow here) that surrounds the wires. and the wires inside are just normal wires that you could solder and heatshrink, as long as you don't obstruct the sheath.
BUT, and this is a big but. I might be wrong.

Rodents chewing on wires is a national problem. I worked in the cable tv industry for way too many years. The term squirrel chew was a common report as to the cause of an outage. Rumor was that the cable manufacture used peanut oil in the manufacturing processes.

I couldnt agree more, doing the old, whats wrong with this picture? When working on cars usually yields the answer, you have to relax and really look, and take it all in.
Love to see a starter change out on a 4. 7 L Toyota V8. Or is the 5. 7 the same?

My wife complained of a hesitation in her RAV4. It ends up that the air intake box was full of acorns. If that wasn't enough, they half filled my grand Cherokee air box as well. The visual inspection is one of the best tools you have in your tool box.

Good Job. My wife was complaining of a hesitation on her Toyota RAV4 and it turned out that the air cleaner was Full of acorns. I mean FULL. Those critters love to chew wires and hide acorns in places you would never think of. Keep Up the great work!

My Volvo from 1984 had been sitting for years before I got it running again. No nests or chews. But another newer car was all chewed up. My theory is that newer cars are more eco-friendly hence digests better. Slow Sunday.

There is another YouTube I follow from NY. state. Andrew Camerata. He is a pretty good mechanic too. He mostly works on his own earth moving equipment. He lives in Saugerties. Didn't know if you knew him or not.
