video description
Not only that, but any remote start or alarm won't work, nor will dash cams with motion sensing parked mode, and you lose all your radio presets (if you listen to radio, lol.

People keep going back to those shops. If they didn't the shop in question would have gone out of business long ago.
I was in the watch and clock business 30 or more years ago. The same people would come into my shop over and over again and start off by telling me that they had just payed my competitor and it still didn't work or what ever the original problem was. and I would quote the my price. and they would be outraged. That I had the audacity to charge them again when they had just paid the other guy.
So I would say. Don't pay me. Take it back to him. But he can't fix it. OK then get him to give you your money back and pay me then. Usually followed by you guys are all alike. I even had one guy who would tell them to take it to me and I should make it work and not charge them anything because there wasn't anything wrong because he had just fixed it. or it was brand new and he had just sold it to them!
Then for a while there was this guy. The Cuckoo Clock Man advertised in the local ad paper. he would fix any Cuckoo Clock for something like 10 or 20 bucks except he never was able to actually fix any of them. Glad to be out of that now!

Funny, my 08 Focus just started killing batteries and the stereo died (it's stuck showing the startup Ford Focus text on the HUD) and I think they are related, twice I've found my battery at 8v the next day after parking (I have a volt meter in my 12v adapter that also shows temp, so I know it's roughly 8. x V every time. I've done a bunch of reading and I'm thinking something with the radio, potentially the bluetooth module, is faultily and not letting the CAN bus system sleep. I've got to see what the battery draws exactly like you did here and pull fuses until I narrow it down (I'm going to start with whatever fuse the radio is on. Your electrical diagnosis skills are nuts and I've picked up a thing or two from you: )

I can guarantee you I know what happened because the same thing happened to me in a slightly older vintage Expedition. The lady bumped her rear wiper spray while getting in/out or while cleaning the dash or even turning the turn signal on. The wiper shaft that goes through the rear window is completely corroded and won't allow the wiper to cycle. So after one hits the mist button, nothing happens in the rear and you and you think nothing of it until you get back into the vehicle the next day and it's completely dead. Only way to fix it is to remove the wiper shaft, sand it down and get rid of all the corrosion and then reinstall with some good lube/grease. That or just disconnect the motor.

Here in the un-united kingdom, I got a suspension knock, it s winter I can t be bothered doing it outside, I take it to two shops neither can find it one suggests it s a loose interior component so I dig thru SMA vids, find one on suspension noise, and what d ya know it s the droplinks, so I spend a morning in the freezing crap replacing them and magically the noise is fixed. Thanks again Eric.

I got a 2002 Ford Explorer XLS 4. 0V6 and my rear turn signal and break light don t work but it s not the harness bulbs or socket as far as I can tell. Any ideas tips or suggestions? Front signal works with rapid flash, right side front and rear both work so not the relay I think. I ve checked for ground. That s good. I m stumped!

Those wiper motors are always the cause. But you can't leave them disconnected because the front washer motor won't work. The rear wiper motor and the washer fluid pump are tied together, so if you disconnect the motor or pull the fuse the washer fluid pump doesn't work.

There's ya problem lady, you took it to the wrong shop first!
That other shop didn't even go as far as installing a crappy aftermarket Frankenstein killswitch on the dash somewhere.
Next thing you know Spiffy Lube will charge money for shrugs and dunnos.

Doesn't having the rear hatch open contribute to parasitic draw by turning on the dome light? I know you found the problem, but I always thought all doors/hatches should be closed as you will get inflated parasitic draw values. Thank you Craig

Wow I d say she got lucky, with basically a 60 watt halogen headlight bulb s worth of current switching on and off constantly every night for probably years. That could have melted stuff back there or possibly worse, started a fire.
