I have a look at a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva that came in from the auction with an air bag light on indicating a problem in the passenger presence module. Let's have a look and see what the issue is. equallywrong: My car jerks during acceleration from a stand still. It does it randomly. It does not do it when up to speed. How do I distinguish between a transmission slipping or a bad fuel injector. Just recently we had -15 wind chill and my car threw a P302 code. But it went away after 48 hours. I want to take it in to a shop and would like to have an idea of possible repairs. Thanks in advance.

Eric I just recently went through something very similar with my F-150!
I bought a set of used seats for it and made the mistake of plugging the passenger seat in before swapping over the passenger presence module from my old seat!
The junkyard passenger presence module and the O. G. SRS module had a verbal altercation which led to three days of screwing around with the Ford IDS ( 150 for 2 days) to get my damn airbag light to go off

Awesome it s good to know my Autel will get me out of trouble
I had the same problem with the OEM programming contacted them and they made it sound like I was the one that was screwing up.
So I guess me and Eric are both screwup s according to them.
Be safe everyone airbags are not something to screw with if you don t know what you re doing

Been tracking down similar issues on my 2001 Mazda MX-5 (Miata) - SRS light was flashing code 45 which according to every document I can find about this model, doesn't exist. Turns out the passenger seat wires had been snapped off at some point in its life, hooked them back up and it's fixed the code 45 and been replaced by code 48. Great!

That sensor is kind of annoying. I submarined my car driving thru a flood, and that thing got wet. Had to leave the passenger seatbelt buckled to trick it into thinking there was always someone sitting there. Got lucky and it dried out after a while.

what a RIDICULOUS state of affairs we've allowed ourselves to get into. Let's plugin the seat first and see if it works.
Not too long ago someone would think you got hit in the head with a rock if you said that out loud.

If I'm not mistaken Craptivas were rental car exclusive vehicles. They were the old leftovers when GM folded all other car companies in their hastily cost cutting measures of 2008. They seemed to be pretty crappy cars.

Had a customer with one of these, blew a radiator at 38k, Chevy said take a long walk. 1200 estimated repair, these are one of the worst newer GMs. These litter the auctions for good reason

My '92 Cherokee passenger sensor reminds me that I don't have cupholders, USB ports, or carpet. And she's cold and why don't the windows roll down easy.

That's why it's backordered. they can't program them, so they just give up on stocking them. Chevvies mean work for Eric! I buy Ford/Honda.
