GM - Chevy Truck: Misfire Diagnosis Barry: Although we're all used to Eric's ability to resolve these issues, the 1st shop should have also been able to eventually get to the same logical conclusion. Instead they loaded the parts cannon with new coils for 2 cylinders and failed to correct anything. Truck owner should not owe them a damm dime, if the shop takes on the job and does a misdiagnoses they should have to eat any unneeded parts the cannon fired. If 1st shop said we tried, tossed in some new parts, didn't fix it though, 350 please, I'd tell them to pound sand.

You know I had a 04 Highlander limited edition of course because only I could have electrical problems out of Toyota lol almost a decade ago now maybe more family bought it as a certified pre-owned I bought it off my brother but before that, one day whenever my mother and my brother were taking it on a field trip they plugged a phone charger in one of the cigarette lighter ports and blew the fuse ever sense then the radio and the clock AC controls all that center dash goodness would randomly go dark never could figure that one out one other then that never did have a real problem out of her though we did replaced that fuse after they got back from their field trip and never had a problem out of that socket since it was a real weird one I mean after I got that car I drove the ever loving out of it I was working cross country and I use that car as my main transport to get me from state to state the only problem I ever had with it the alternator went out once aside from that weirdness with the infotainment stuff in the center of the dash

Eric it sounds like your the only shop in avoca that can fix Any issue that other shops have no clue on what they are doing if these shops are employing technicians too figure out running concerns and cannot that doesn t say much for the management or even a shop owner which clearly doesn t have any clue either. Im really surprised they are still in business. This kind of diag is text book stuff. Im in same business as you and I m the go too guy for diag so if I can t figure that misfire out then snap on was smart for putting wheels on the the tool boxes because I d be fired. With shops like that you ll be in business for a long time keep up the hard work my friend I m sorry for venting I believe that s a po449 code

E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This injector is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible! THIS IS AN EX-injector!

One test I used to use a lifetime ago to help me find which cylinder was missing, Pre scanners and scopes you can carry was my inductive timing light with the clamp, just move it from wire to wire until you tested all cylinders, Didn't tell you what. but it gave you a starting point, I moved a few sparks plugs and wires trying to determine the source of the miss. to eliminate the easy to swap stuff. Saved a lot of time.

Very good video! Why do people run the tanks empty? The gas tank is empty(pumping the bottom crude, fuel filter compromised? . it letting junk through? I d bet if one injector has junk in it, several others will also, it s a matter of time before another failure. My truck would be getting new fuel filter/s and all new injectors, just to be safe. Y all stay safe

I have one of the pos afm oil burning gm engines. Normally #6 cylinder every 6 months or so. New plug oil fouled. clean it, but look super super close, there will be a hair line crack in the center porcelain every time. A/c plugs. Also note the sudden loos of oil pressure, check the VLOM manifold bolts. You'll find them finger tight.

Top diagnosis Eric, no parts cannon on your job, pity the other shop, had not used your testing methods, hopefully the customer goes back to them for his dough back, have had this a couple of times on massive Ford engines over here in the UK, Ford KA 1100 cc, 35 quid new injector, runs great, credit to you, take care

Thanks for showing how to test low pressure injectors. If you ever work on a high pressure direct injected fuel system, you should do a video on it. A coworker worked on his own gdi vw and it resulted in the vehicle burning on the side of the road due to lack of knowledge today.

I tell my DIY customers to use swaptronics all the time. They have the extra time to test and not waste the money. Unless the part is super cheap or buried then it's usually not worth the aggravation to pull half the engine just to swap a part.
