Nissan Frontier Wheel BEaring James: Not that I want to have wheel bearing issues, but I have never had any issues with my VWs, Hondas, Hyundai, Mitsubishi or Chevys as far a wheel bearings. And I have spent my whole life in Michigan, northern Illinois and northern Ohio. Plenty of salt, sand and other garbage on the roads. Plenty of rust, plenty of seized caliper pins, but never a wheel bearing. It must just be the manufacturing lottery if one dies.

Done my first press on bearing 2 days ago on my sister car.
Also replaced the rear hub bearing and front control arm and oil change. Air filter and cabin filter.
As Eric says. If I can DO IT. Youse can DO IT. Yup. I learned how. Next round I will get the hub press off tool with the nuts and bolts gadget for the win.
My sister says. Next time. We can do the passenger side hub. Rear bearing and control arm replacement. Possibly another oil change again when it comes up. Thank you Eric for showing me how and I'm an old geezer who is willing to learn and not complain about someone screwed me or the dealership screwed me. I'm not sure what they quoted my sister for all the work I did. But. im happy my sister is happy and safe. Happy turkey day everyone.

Imagine life with vehicle lifts. They make work so much easier. Its best to count your blessings when the going gets tough. It is insane how manufactures don't take into account what a vehicle will encounter in different regions. You'd think they'd design cars different for the rust belt. Its hard to blame the manufactures when they have the Government breathing down there neck. Imagine if they focused on car safety & longevity for rust belt owners. I would like to hear some ideas people have about what manufactures could do. I'd also like to hear rust belt mechanic's opinion on Electric Vehicles & the challenges it would cause.

Here s your comment for you tube algorithm!
I pulled my wheels off today thinking my pads have to be getting close to replacing!
75000 miles, pulled my 20ft RV from Colorado to down near Ft Worth last winter!
Winter before Colorado to east central Oklahoma, from southeast plains of Colorado up into the high Rockies of Colorado!
Original pads, and the fronts still have over 7mm of pads left!
Happy happy happy!

Eric you should do a time study some day of how much time you spend on Rust related issues on cars here in the PRNY. As a WNY resident (Lockport NY) I know what you go through. Mechanics outside of the Snow, Salt, Rust Belt have no clue what people go through up here with our vehicles and rust problems! You lose time, ergo, money dealing with rust I am sure! Keep up the great work and videos!

I never understood why there are so many different types of electrical connectors and locking tabs. Why are the engineers so worried about connections spontaneously coming apart? I get that you need various styles of plugs for different things, but the type of lock should really be standardized. A simple push down to release would make everyone's life so much easier.

I have recently been watching your videos. I have been talking to the family units about moving back to the New York area from the desert southwest, your videos talked me out of moving back. The amount of rust you have to deal with is insane, I'll put up with the sand getting everywhere. My 1979 GMC would be eaten alive up there.

Thanks Eric O for your videos. I enjoy them while I pass time caring for my wife, who is disabled. I suppose its a release for me. Your efforts to help people by doing what you can to save on their repairs is a true service to your community. Have a blessed Thanks Giving and I wish you God' blessings on your family.

I've been pretty disappointed in Nissan the last couple of days. Had a 2019 Rogue yesterday with 40K that needed and alternator. Then a 2018 Altima today that needed a blower motor. I guess that's why they have such short warranties. It's kind of sad when these people buy new cars and still have to pay for repairs.

Closed my eyes but it was too late! I can t unsee the caliper dangling like a plum bob.
no harm no foul the hose wasn t dry rotted and or cooked so Don worry bout it! There should be your classic S hooks someplace in the drawers with brake tools and my guess is they are.
Just sayin. lol

Just a suggestion; I use a wrench ( long, typically like a 16mm - 18mm double box end) between the rotor and the lug nut to hold the rotor in place in the 3 o clock position. Not only does this hold the rotor in place, it gives extra leverage to turn the wheel back and forth.

Hi, Mr. O. I usually enjoy your banter. This episode did have one or two new East Coast Slang comments that should be put into somebody's book. Of course, I am not going to repeat them here. I don't want to give away your secrets! Anyway, thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!

Using a high quality silicone paste on the slide pins and in the boots, has made my pads wear a lot longer and more evenly. I like the 3m best. It keeps the salt water from getting in and rusting it up. Thanks, Eric, for showing how it's done.

If that was my car I would have made you put the brakes back the way they were when I brought it in. I did not ask you to work on the brakes and screw up my brake job that I spent 30 hours on! . Awe, what the heck, Happy Thanksgiving anyway.
