For further purchase, will be the gti. Reason being. is because the gti has so much restrictions on the car. When I mean restrictions I mean it. 290hp is what they tell you, realistically no it damn near 300-350, with knew pump and injectors, and tune around 2 grand will beat most of the cars 450-600 HP. I not joking. when I purchase the car, they took away the fuel injection pump and injector, so my car was pushing 210. let me tell you something 210hp 0-60 in 5. 5 sec. hmmm let just sit that there.

The Honda looks too cartoonish, and as if it were pimped by a South Bronx gangsta! The Cupra R looks super bland, inside and out. The GTI looks and feels the best of all the contenders, but I still think the best looking GTI was the MK4 '337' (Google it. that car's lines and stance were very German and just gorgeous. And then there is the legendary GTI pedigree, and the Audi-like fit and finish. I'll take the GTI, thank you.

I don't understand how the golf edition 40 lost when it has that power for 10 seconds from 3rd gear as how long did the quarter mile last for. There is no standing quarter mile time. How long did it take from 0 - 100km/h, and from there in 3rd gear till the finish. The time just doesn't add up.

The ctr looks like it was designed by ali g, the seat is dull and boring and you will look like a tight arse in it. and the temporary overboost on the gti doesn't make sense. get a C S and add back seats if you really want the best gti. otherwise. look at an s3, golf r and focus rs.

the comparison is quite wrong, the lion leaves very late in the beginning and half way through it is like gas is loosened, in reality it would be the same result of positions but more distance between them. golf is clearly at a disadvantage.

OK Honda won, but cringe for any person that drives it. for me the Honda is too flamboyant. Golf was a limited edition vs a stock Cupra! C'mon! Golf has nicest interior of the lot but like Matt said value for money it's the Cupra for me -

I currently have a Cupra and I can hands down say it's the nicest car I've ever driven and enjoyed owning. Had the standard Leon for 3 years prior and that was also a pleasure to drive, but not quite the same rocket

The Seat is the Golf with a slighter shitter interior and less sound deadening but more power. If you want a bit more refinement spend 2k more on the golf. If you're not bothered have a nice holiday with the 2k.

Technically the GTI is the cheapest overall as it holds the most value and will depreciate less over time so the extra money you spend you save as with the seat you-ll just loose on it quickly.

I do wonder (because I have one, with manual gearbox) how a 230i would compare to these FWD hot hat hatches in a short drag race, less power but claims a similar 0-62, presumably because RWD.
