New BMW M2 Competition - it'll have 4WD & 470hp!

We all know how good the current M2 is, right? Well, you-ve probably been wondering how BMW is going to make the new one even better than before - we know we have! Well, we-ve been doing some investigating, and we think we have an idea of what-s in store! For starters, the new M2 is set to be based on the new 2 Series Coupe. And thankfully, we-ve seen some spy shots that show the M2 is likely to lower, wider, and (most importantly) look much more aggressive compared to the standard coupe! The question is, once the camouflage has been peeled back on the prototype, will the new M2 look as good as the current model? And more importantly, will it come with a massive M3/M4-style grille at the front! Well for an exclusive look at what we think it'll look like, along with which engine we think will be powering it, you'll have to stick with Mat for everything you need to know!

Il liked the first M2 better. The new M240i has a very good-looking grill though (what a surprise for a recent BMW) but the flat side line and the much too long front hood are off. Also, the rear lights are put to low, and the front ligots are too small (they are not stretched enough. Sadly, BMW will apparently change the good grill again and keep the overlong hood. Definitely not a good design.

If things continue the way they are going I think that the f series will be the peak of BMW design as far as aesthetics are concerned. I personally still like the e series the best though, way more clean and not as in your face but still mean looking. I think the new m2 could still be cool as long as they keep it light enough which im not really hopeful.

The only thing that could make me rethink my m2 competition purchase is selling my beautiful condition turbo 89 cirrusblau e30 325is or a selectable/ adjustable awd new m2 with a lsd rear end and non magride selectable suspension. I want regular aftermarket tunable suspension.

Am I the only one that needs a six pack of beer to understand British accent? LOL/JK
Good commentary.
Now, if BMW could do something about their re-sale value. Which I think is starting to change now that their cars are more reliable and faster.

If the new M2 really look anything like your rendering that would be the death nil of that successful model, I-m aware aesthetics is subjective to individual taste but your rendition is less imaginative than a child-s scratching

Everyone in the comments probably hated the old generation design language when it first came out. You-ll probably also like this generation better than the next one. Start appreciating the design instead of judging.

My word, i have always loved BMW styling but honestly. they should sack the whole bmw design team. Its getting worse and worse. This is honestly making me move away from BMW, band it seems I am not the only one.

The older M2 imo was one of top 5 prettiest cars ever made and that's coming from a Mercedes fan! The new m2 renders look unbelievably bad with the square front. How have bmw managed to do that, I don't know? -

4WD? You had better be able to disengage the front diff. if they go that way but it just adds weight. Let-s hope the new CS remains solely RWD. Ditching the DCT for the auto in the new M2 is also an error.

I thought BMW already announced that the 2022 M2 Comp will have the S58 engine with 420 HP?
I own a 2020 M2 but was planning on getting the S58 2022 version. I hope that wasn-t misinformation
