I've just came back from holidays to Italy where we got such Audi Q5 for over 3 weeks. We did more than 5K kms --- highways, backroads, small country roads and (sic) small towns. This car was awesome. Lovely to drive and even with 5174 km done, we did not have enough of it. Very comfortable and easy to drive. I really liked that. GPS was great, however -learning about my driving habits- (forcing it sometimes to secondary road) caused that I was getting random (side roads) usually every morning through very narrow streets (which wasn't ideal. I learned later to avoid suggestions for the 1st 30 min and then it was fine - stuck to the main roads. Dynamic system was great for the mountains and highway, Comfort mode was fantastic for cities. Absolutely loved it. We had a lot of luggage and (only now I noticed that) I did not think to move the back seats. That would help a lot with that extra few cms.
I was surprised it did not heave rear view camera (or I did not find it, but parking sensors were very good. Anti-collision alert was triggered few times when random car appeared in front - this worked quite well. I loved the speed control which was adjusting the speed accordingly to the car in front of me and if the road was clear, it came back to the programmed speed.
What I was missing there: some space for sunglasses, keyless door opening, parking cameras and sunroof would have been nice, haha.
Would I buy this car after 3 weeks driving? Hell yeah! (I just can't afford it, hahaha. I loved the car and I think it was great choice.

90% of Audi haters fall into in one of these 3 categories.
First, those who can never afford this beautiful marvel of German engineering or any other premium German brand in general (We can sympathize with them only if they stop pretending.
Second, who were turned away from Audi by reading too much Audi hate comments from internet trolls (including category 1 trolls) and ended up buying BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Volvo, Japanese etc and now they regret. 75% of them will consider Audi after their lease ends or once they sell their current car. This category is ridden with sheep mentality, they take decisions based on public conscience and have low self confidence. In their free time, they browse through random Audi videos and post hate comments which gives them a short term mental relief. Majority of haters fall in this category.
Third, this is a small group of genuine people who faced some problems with Audi cars in the past and so they want to be careful. They should know that not a single car brand out there is fault proof.

Now that the Q5 is made in mexico I wonder if they will experience the same drop in quality as VW, Ford, GMC, Chevy and Nissan are now plagued with. Audi has had so many quality issues already with the timing chain tensioner failing, piston rings/oil consumption, dieselgate, etc. I have owned 3 Audi's but it seems after 2008 they turned into junk. My wife's 2012 Q5 has 40k miles and is experiencing the oil consumption which eventually leads to engine failure due to loss of compression, but many 2009-2012 owners had engine fail due to timing chain failure and Audi leaves them hanging. Why spend $50k on a car that will only last 5 years? The secondary market is non existent so resale value has almost disappeared.

Still the usual gimmick that VW-Audi does for ages - a lot of stuff that comes as standard or costs adequate money is an extra on Audi and costs more than others ask. A base model probably comes with gray cloth seats, climate control with knobs and 3 inch monochrome screen, combined with halogen headlights and 17 inch wheels. Equipment so dreary and eye sore that they expect you to buy extra packages, in total of 1/3 of base model with the same 2. 0tfsi engine. A good looking cat but the way they are couging buyers is what drives them to Asian cars (I think it's safe to say in 2018 that Volvo is more of a Chinese than Swedish car.

My only complaint about my Q5 is related to Dieselgate - they didn't particularly advertise the fact that you HAVE to keep the tank topped up with ADBlue in order to drive - not a huge deal in the grand scheme, however, since Dieselgate their -fix- appears to be -make the Q5 drink lots more ADBlue- to fix the emissions. It's annoying, but, the car itself is a lovely, comfortable drive.

I have a 2018 2. 0 TDI S-Line. Great car but has one major fault - stand at the rear of the car and you will see that the right hand side is approx 10 mm lower than the left side. My car is not the only one with this problem - all Q5's seem to have it.
I have complained to Audi hoping that the problem will be escalated to Germany - but so far I have had no feedback.

I'm a massive Audi fan but they have started taking the piss for the amount of options that you have to pay extra for recently. Just a note Audi. Customers don't like feeling like they're being ripped off. Like Matt said, at this price point it needs more kit as standard. Other top brands already add a lot of kit as standard

Can't agree with your comment against using your phone's map app. Sticking with my phone is the only way to go. praise Android Auto! Dealing with the idiosyncrasies of everyone's custom built software and its bugs and failures sucks balls, and detracts from the brand's reputation.

In an era where the Japanese have exponentially improved finishing, stability and performance with reliability, I can-t make heads or tails of what Germans are bringing to the table. All that sound and fury signifying nothing. an ex-German Car fan disappointed again.
