Convertibles; they offer a unique driving experience like no other. Not only do they allow other road users to get a close up look of the good life, as wind blows through your hair, but you can work on your tan too! In this group test I review three unique convertibles. Will American muscle win this group with the Ford Mustang Convertible? How about the British and totally whacky Range Rover Evoque Convertible? Or perhaps the uber cool Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet ticks all the boxes? Find out in this Head2head video!

Hmmm I here from the demuro review of the evoque, while styling is relative (I'm with Matt, I think it's interesting, both review give conflicting info about the rear seat condition. Demuro said it's cramp with no legs space (with video to prove, where matt said it's -workable- (with video to prove. Is it possible they review a different evoqe, Matt with longer chassis while the other one shorter?

Range Rover will get you over bumps without getting a flat tire/scraping, Mustang burn outs, and if you want to kill somebody, or have a death wish, Benz is good for luxury but you'd probably fall asleep while your driving, or the Benz is good for picking up a girl.

Out of all the options I-d choose none because,
The C-Class just looks girly tbh
The mustang makes people think you are a drag racer who is going far a nature trip
The Range Rover, well, ITS A SUV WITH NO ROOF

reply

Sure, taking the roof off seems romantic and seems nice for a car trip, but it makes these three cars look worse. Yuck. they looked so much better in their original trim, especially the evoque.

What that Range Rover does is remind me of the original coach built Range Rover used in Octopussy. It's so unique and I really hope Range Rover make more 2 door cars and convertibles in future.
reply

None of those 3 is proper cabrio.
Mustang have no V8, Mercedes have engine from tractor, and Range Rover is SUV so by definition this car nis not good anywhere (not on road nor off road.

I saw one of those convertible evoque-s the other day and it was actually surprisingly good looking. Weird as hell, but kind of cool. That being said, I-d never buy one in a thousand years.
reply

I would pick the evoque because, I love the way you're sat up high, have some off road capabilities and has good space for four people in a convertible, and an SUV. --

The Merc is miles ahead. but for the climate we have here they are a waste of money, you need to be in Spain for one of these where it only rains one a Month.
reply

That open top Evoque is the most chintzy, and unfit-for-purpose 4 X 4 ever. It's like a welly boot that has been sprayed gold and given a Cuban heel.
