R8 V8 owner here: few things I would point out. For sure v10 beats the v8, but the v8 was not used to its full potential in this video.
The Engine should rev up to 8. 2K when the engine is warm enough, if not, it's limiting you to 7K, you can clearly see in this video Matt hits the rev limiter at 7K and stops accelerating. All the V8 power actually comes at 7k to all the way up to 8. 2K. I can launch mine to 100km/h in 3. 8 sec, this car did like 4. 8sec-5. 0 because of the rev limiter. Super cool to see the difference, but would have love to see its full potential.

If you look on 03: 10 minute, its clearly something wrong with 1st gen R8.
His oil pressure gauge is dead, engine is cold.
Originaly this car do 4. 6 sec from 0 to 100kmh. I think they got bad shaped one in video.

Why is Mat riding the V8 on torque? In a race with a high reving engine. You can rev the engine till 8200 with only 9 KW drop of power. He is shifting on 7000. Before max power is even coming. I don't get it.

You could probably do some upgrades that'd make the V8 keep up with those others, modern V8 supercars can do pretty much anything the V10 and V12 ones do now.

My dad has the third R8 with the same trim, and I-ve only ever heard it called the competition trim, not LMX, but it turns out they are the same thing?

Do us a favor Matt! Stick to automatic cars when racing and let a driver who knows how to shift a manual gearbox drive the non automatic cars!

Why compare the 3 newer models with a V10 but on the original you had the V8 even though they made it in a V10. Makes zero sense.
