Mini was doing so well in the United States with the R50 and R56 Cooper. then they released the abomination they call the F56. Sales ranked immediately because people were not attracted to its awful fishmouth front end, comically oversized taillights and awkwardly large front overhang. The interior was a mixed bag of the cheapest BMW parts. The engines in the S and JCW no longer felt special or even that quick. I loved my R56 S 6MT. When I drove an F56 S 6MT I was shocked how terrible it drove in comparison. The brakes felt like they had no power, the engine was not rev happy and the fake engine noise drove me up a wall. I was so disappointed. So was the rest of America. If you look at US MINI sales you-ll see an immediate huge drop when the F56 was released. Since then it-s fallen every year more and more. They have still not added substantial power to the underpowered 2. 0T engine, the weird looking front end has still not been reshaped and the prices are still ridiculously high. They also still don-t even offer blind spot monitoring or lane keep assist when prices easily crest $40K.

A mini isnt a mini without terrible suspension. In my cooper hatch when I go over a speed bump and at a relatively slowly speed, I feel like im breaking my bottom lol. Also why Mini only allow you to put the back seats down from only the back seats only and not from the boot also. In my hatch mini it does the opposite. You can only put the back seats down from the boot and not from the back seats. Why oh why mini cant you design for both?

Hi Mat! Hi everyone I have a difficult one for you. What is at the moment the most affordable 4x4/Awd capable offroader (with low gear ratios preferably) as in a compact or sub compact in a budget suv with the most luxurious interior and technology? Is it this? The new 2018 Jeep compass/renegade trailhawk, vw troc, volvo c40 or even the new c4 aircross which do you think?

A carbuncle of a car? It's a mini countryman not a Citroen cactus! Shut up man you don't know what you're talking about! It'll be that colour that's put you off, (dull and boring) mines electric blue and I love it! How can you dislike a car that's so full of space and practical, it drives like a dream and is still like shit off a shovel as was my 2. 0 ltr sport!

I love the style of the exterior but I don't like certain things inside of the car like the screen is a rectangle in a circle and the gauge cluster looks a little outdated. The other thing I don't like is the price. The price is really expensive for what you're getting, at least here in the US.

No spare wheel & jack. Bye bye, i'll shop else were. Our friends bought one of these shitboxes, caught a flat tyre & new nothing until the tyre & wheel were knackered. An expensive day out that ended up a long weekend away in a hotel until it could be fixed. Ouch!

This thing is way overpriced. The Cooper S version costs more than a BMW X3, even though the car is based on the smaller X1. And even then, you don't get things that you'd expect for the money, like electrically adjustable seats.

Surely the Name has be Hijacked from the Original? The Originals name was shortened from the word Miniature and started from 6. 5. k in todays money. This car in not Miniature and certainly not cheap.

We have a 20 reg model with the cooper s sport pack on it. We love it, it is ridiculously loud as welll. Got Harmon lardons sound as well. Plus the jcw sport seats which this doesn-t have

Just a hire of a Mini Cooper D and was amazed how good and how much fun it is. Really very good and would consider this Countryman as a replacement for my current car when ready.
