Its another ugly flop from BMW. They have gone fatter with their cars.
Just because they are using lighter materials, does not mean they should be making hoofing great sized cars like this. For this day and age, a car like a 850i is quite vulgar and unacceptable considering the environmental issues we have. I just do not get it. Why do you need a car like this, anyone who is thinking of buying one. Small dick size perhaps.

There's nothing like quit 6 series, telling people it will not be made anymore but made 8 series for more money and 8 series gran coupe, replacing 6 series for more money. It's a big lie to get more money, nothing else. Depretiation is massive and 840d lost 30% of the market value in first year of ownership-from 90k fully loaded to 58k. No thank you

70 kilograms/154 pounds is not a bad weight increase over the Coupe at all. That-s actually really impressive considering the added length and two extra doors. I wonder how much each of the extra doors weigh in full trim and how much of the added weight is actually part of the vehicle structure. Regardless it-s got me impressed.

Me and a friend worked at one of the secret unveilings of this for long term customers. I personally don't like BMWs but the 8 looked and sounded incredible. Cool experience. I did have to be asked to move my polo from the middle of a display line of 20 of them though, was a bit embarrassing.

This whole SUV coupe and 4-door -gran coupe- thing is completely out of control. No better way to ruin a sleek, sporty and beautiful design than stretching the car and adding two doors which aren't suppose to be there. It is sad to see, truly.

They should of integrated the rear seat center console features into the arm rest instead along with the cup holders.
Because a rear seat center console defeats the purpose of a 4 door car if you can-t use all 3 seats in the back

Around 3: 06 Mat mentions massage seats. I'm buying either an M5 or an M8 and at present I don't see the massage feature available at all for any 8 series car, period. Does anyone know differently?

It's good. Really good but the AMG GT-4 Door is better and looks muuuch better although it's a heavy chunk. Hopefully they'll improve in that section but also in engine choices.

The AMG Gt 4dr can do 3. 2 seconds in 0-100kms so this car is way too slow. I will take GT 4dr AMG over this. Plus the AMG interior is much nicer and exhaust sounds better too

The BMW 8 series grand coupe - like the coupe - can't even compare to the new Mercedes CLS, let alone the AMG GT 4-door. Even the Panamera has it clearly beat!
