I own a manual 6 speed Golf R and have driven my friends Type R a few times. My thoughts on comparing the 2. The Golf R feels faster HOWEVER The Type r is way more race/track focused. Harder suspension, firmer steering, more feedback on steering, better clutch and transmission feel, mechanical LSD. Basically feels more raw and more engaging. Seating position is more race car feel, and seats are superb. Really love this car. However id pick the Golf R if its just for daily use as i found the Golf R a bit easier to live with ie. softer ride, easier to get in and out of cabin. Better if you have kids or family. Golf R feels a bit lighter, faster to me also, especial if you go stage one APR, gives the engine a lot more torque and better power delivery. The only other reason id pick the Golf R is if you live in a country where it snows or rains a lot as i found with the Type R when you put the power down in the wet it loses a lot of traction when you push it hard even in a straight line because of its FWD system. . Golf R is more planted in these conditions and imo safer. If i could have both the Type R would definitely be my dry weather back roads/track car and the Golf my daily. or when conditions are bad.

thing that really puts me and family off is the CTR only seats 4, why oh why not Honda just add 1 extra seatbelt in rear! Adds massive convenience at minimum cost. It-s make or break for ppl who sometimes have to carry 5 ppl, what is there to lose by adding an extra seatbelt to rear? Nothing, but everything to gain. l for one won-t choose one because of it, l often have 5 in car. Practicalities are essential for hot hatch. Exhaust noise is still impotent, for a car thats mechanically ace. Like if feel the same

I perfectly remember my Clio 3 RS, 203 CV (nominal, 165. 2 on the dyno, 120 at the wheel.
However, the stiffer on the market, the most efficacious on track.
This to say that the 0-62 mph is not that important.
on the Clio 3 RS was 6. 9 but who cares. still, the most efficacious on the track, of course not on the straight, but who cares. the most important thing are the bends, isn't it?

I don-t get why people hate on this car so much. It-s one of the best daily drivers that-s affordable. It looks relatively nice and I like it. Once again it is a brilliant fwd car. Best modern stock i4 engine too. It-s quick, cheap, reliable, practical, and affordable. Just Bc it-s fwd and a 4-banger doesn-t mean it deserves hate. Plus it-s a manual only option which is fun.

After owning this car for now 6 month. Got to admit, this car is something very special. May not be a drag car but still beat most car, once you rolling then there is no chance you'll be catching this unless you have over 400bhp. Yeh almost forgot, nothing can catch this on the bends and cornering as this seems to take out 4wd cars too

4: 00 my oh my, you reviewers. This car you don't start up with the rev limiter of 3500, you gas and cluch launch. that way you avoid all the startup problems, shakes, overstrain on the suspension, excess power and you avoid the 3500 rpm limitations.

I drove the 1. 5 turbo sport today, and that car was already so much fun. I mean, it was surprisingly good. The steering is probably one of the best amongst hot hatches, that variable steering basically means there's no dead spot even at centre.

The car looks horrible. So cringe to make this car standard more over the top than a Lamborghini or Ferrari, even though it is barely faster 0-100 than a Golf GTi-- What a poser car. I would never ever buy this car as an adult
