We are now in 2021 and I would have never imagined that I would end up owning an i20, I bought it second hand in September 2020, A very good one with low mileage of 16, 000ks, normally people sell from 26, 000ks onwards, but mine was a bit of a rare case. Well first of all, it's a mid spec Indian version and it does have an arm rest, I was first and foremost looking for a car with reasonable practicality, reasonable rear leg room and a boot bigger than my previously owned Suzuki Swift, the only car that fitted my requirements were the i20 and newer Suzuki Baleno, however because Baleno are fairly newish, it was harder to come across one at the time. I found the i20 and bought it, our top specs don't have a touchscreen though, I guess it's how our dealership orders it and perhaps uts cheaper for them. I find its comfy whilst driving, more than my Swift and the ride is a bit refined, however I miss the terrific handling of the Swift and that is what the i20 of that generation lacked, its a good car overall with good handling but not thrilling.

Here we go again -not as much fun as a Ford Fiesta-. I beg to differ. This is a bit less common on the roads, and will cost far less even in this spec than the equivalent Fiesta, which in my opinion is now rather overpriced for a Ford. I get so tired of every car being compared to Fords. Its down to personal choice and budget and not everyone wants a Fiesta. I find these videos quite negative towards other brands. Matt seems to be letting his own personal opinion overshadow his reviews of cars that he obviously doesnt really like, and its pretty obvious with the style of review. He tries to be positive, but always seems to try and put you off with his sarcastic put downs at the same time. Clarkson used to do that on old Top Gear if he was testing an ordinary car. Pulling faces, silly voices and the like and basically finding himself unable to do a serious review because he disliked the car, and it wasnt a BMW or something.

I20 is a great car. My dad has a third one going. 1st was 1. 4, 2nd this featured model and now hi has a MY19 version. The newest has an MPG of 55 and very sufficient power for every day use. Only thing I would get as an extra is the vision package, as we live here in the dark, Finland. The stock H4 is rubbish, yesterday fitted a couple of auxiliary high beams on dad's car. The difference is like night and day! The 2nd car had better light output with projector headlamps (which are extra in the new one. Also fitted HB3 HID xenon kit in those. Visibility was awsome, and beam pattern was very sharp.

I've just collected my new (used i20) and I'm really impressed so far, it's got lots of equipment and good safety features. It drives well but the engine does lack a bit of punch so I need to be sure when I move off at a roundabout so that I won't get caught out when another car comes. It's okay when it's up to speed on the motorway and can keep pace with traffic. All in all a great value car with lots of equipment and space. A real bang for your buck. PS 45mpg combined seems pretty good for a 1. 2 petrol.

My 2012 i20 came loaded with auto lights and viper, 4 disc brakes with abs and ebd, tilt and telescopic steering, front and rear fog lamps, auto dimming RVM, Electric and heated ORVM, reverse camera with sensors, stereo with 6 speakers, dual airbags apart from the usuals like air con and powered all round windows etc. Also, its 1. 4 lt 90 hp diesel with enough punch although I have tuned it for 120 hp with simple mods. Its makes an excellent car for intercity travel and is comfortable.

I-ve had the i20 active for 2 years now.
Pros:
Well built
1. 0 t-gdi has good performance
The parts you touch feel luxury.
Cruise control is on the right side of steering wheel.
Cons:
No infotainment on pretty much all models.
Engine only gets about 70% of claimed economy.
A lot of grey plastic.
Cheap seats.
Non existent suspension.

Plus the i20 Insurance is a lot cheaper than my wife Polo.
My i20 is R582 per month and the Polo R1253 per month for the insurance.
I have i20 1, 4 Fluid, My i20 has more luxury features than the Polo 1, 6 TDI, but the Polo is way more powerful than the i20 of course. Only one thing I miss from my i20 is a small turbo is require.

drive polo and i20 the same time - and sorry but i20 was wors in every way - rear gear hard to insert - on the corners polo mach better - front light was 200% beeter than i20 lights - seats very uncomfortable on i20 - radio hard to set - no dashboard light brightnes adjust - soundproof worse than polo.

Indian i20 maybe be better specced but quality is absolute shit, hard plastics all around, seats don't have any support, exterior body panel break even if a cycler hits it, and till 2015, apart from the top spec, mid spec and other models didn't even got airbags, absolutely pathetic

5: 15 Oh, it's not as fun as a ford fiesta! Why are all these british car reviewers so pumped up about ford? I have a colleague that's got one. Can't say one good word about it. We used to have 2 ford transit vans. Both broken engine at 150. 000 km! Ford is absolute garbage!
