Bentley Continental GT vs Jaguar I-Pace - DRAG RACE, ROLLING RACE & BRAKE TEST

We-re going petrol vs electric for our latest test! First up we-ve got the Bentley Continental GT, packing a 6-litre W12 engine with 635hp & all-wheel drive. Alongside it comes the I-Pace, which also comes with all-wheel drive thanks to the two electric motors sat underneath the bonnet. Will new-age electric make a dent in traditional petrol power?

Jaguar needs to add power and create an insane mode. They have already hinted at making a performance version with more HP they said it could be possible to get to run sub 9 second quarters with huge HP boost to compete with the Tesla Roadster but more likely going to upgrade the performance less dramatically but focus on handling. i believe they will have a 120, 000 dollar version that can do 0-60 in around 3 seconds and low 11 second quarters. Just a guess because a number of people inquired about it and videos like this one will pressure them to do an upgrade. When you look at the Model X you have largely 3 different variants 2 with slightly higher performance and one that is a neck breaker.

I am consistently impressed by the Continental GT, the overall performance of the First Edition is incredible, patiently waiting for the GTC edition. It would be interesting to see a comparison between the Bentley Continental GT and the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. Though AM likes to consider the DBS as a competitor to the 812 Superfast, it is really best in the realm of the luxury Super GT. As with the Continental, really looking forward to a Volante edition of the Superleggera. Much like the DBS Superleggera in Skyfall Silver, the Continental in Tungsten or Magnetic Silver has a presence that's hard to ignore.

As stunning as the continental is, feel as if this was a truly pointless contest, like me racing a Citroen Saxo vs a bmw 320d. If any one thought the ipace was going to win any of those contests you don-t know cars. Maybe give it a challenge and put it up against one of the ludicrous Tesla-s? Not moaning I appreciate the video, I-m just saying if your gunna make a video with random cars drag racing at least make them similar contenders.

Bentley is a great car, however please do not mock electric cars by saying -electric cars are the future- sarcastically. Let's get you in a more similarly priced Tesla roadster 2. 0, and see how you like electric then. Please do not judge an ENTIRE fuel by one car. The Hyundai i10 is petrol, doest that make all petrol cars slow?

Would-ve liked to see a better car drag race with that amazing Bentley! Just too predictable that it would-ve demolished the ipace. Maybe against a Rolls Ghost or a Masarati? Hahaha Actually I would love to see this take on Tesla P90D if electric was the goal.

Fun video, but rather silly. It is the ultimate apples vs gorilla comparison. You can buy 3 ipaces for one GT. but the GT is lovely. So when are we having a drag race between a corolla and a 911? Both about the same weight: )
good video!

Hmmm. Bentley $550K, I-Pace $150K. Tough choice. Guess what? I test drove the I-pace and ordered one on the spot! Now waiting for delivery in August. Meanwhile, I am making weekly videos about the I-Pace here in Australia.

I havent seen the whole video. A question and a suggestion. Did they made it till the finish line? Next test between brit cars should be -drag race, rolling race, brake test, BRAKING DOWN test-. Cheers.

I still dont get how is this supposed to be interesting. You can already tell who is gonna win from the specs you are told before the race itself. But people seem to like it so. its alright I guess?

Electric isn't the future. This motoring 'journalist' is about as interested in the facts as CNN or the BBC, who, incidentally also believe in coal-powered electricity is somehow non-polluting.
