I have had a seat Tarraco excellence lux for 20 months, I absolutely hate this car with a passion, I have the 4 drive modal with the 190bhp Diesel engine, it-s not exactly fast, but it is absolutely terrible on fuel anything but motorway will see mpg well below 30, normally around 26-27mpg, on the motorway down to Wigan and back (I live in Durham) I normally get 39-40mpg, I don-t drive fast by the way, I don-t have a single point on my licence, having owned a 335d xdrive bmw (which was obviously far faster) before the tarraco i would honestly say the tarraco is worse on fuel, no idea how but it definitely is, but fuel is far from the only problem, wow this car is boring to drive, the 4x4 system is crap and the breaks/ stopping in the snow are absolutely shocking bad for a modern car, it just slides and slides and slides, the sat nav has crashed on a pritty regular basis also, another major gripe I have is if you put anything under 10 litres of fuel in the car it won-t register on the digital dash which seems a bit daft, the worst of the worse though is the fact in 20 months of ownership the tarraco has had to be recovered 3 times twice for a push button start failure and once because something happened with the ECU, the cars ECU decided to lock its self so the car wouldn-t start, even the AA man couldn-t even get in to the ECU with all his computers, ended of having to be recovered by seat and the ECU had to be replaced, which took ages as it had to come from Spain or something, I could honestly go on and on and on, but to cut a long story short I-m going to take the hit, get rid of the car ASAP and I think I-m going to get the Audi q3 e-tron, I can honestly say the tarraco is by far and away the worse NEW car I-ve ever bought, by a long long way, don-t think I will ever buy another seat in my life.

I always like your reviews a lot but there are some things that I never understand that you complain about.
1. Putting seats down manually and on the side. How often do you actually need to use this? It-s not a problem with kids either because they are not in the car with you naturally.
2. Cheap plastics in the back. Have you got kids? They will try to destroy the panels with whatever it takes. Good with plastic. Bad with soft leather.
3. Fake exhausts. I think that rear accidents costs a lot already. No reason to damage the full exhaust system as well.

normally I like your reviews. and I get it that you're not super excited about a SEAT (neither am I) and you just want it over with, but you shouldn't let it show this much. This was like you're late for a plane and you got 2 minutes to say something about the car. it's too obvious that you're not a fan of the brand. it's like someone made you shoot this video at gunpoint.

Ended ordering a FR 150 tsi. I was going to get the skoda kodiaq but then got messed around with the options with what I could and couldn't get and prices jumping up quickly. I found the tarraco after this ordeal and it was on a special lease and way better value with tons of options included vs the skoda and also better looking in my humble opinion.

I'm looking for a comfortable and relaxed car, that's somewhat left field. I currently drive a Mito, it's 2 low, 2 harsh & crashes over bumps. I want easy going and compact, not large as 90% of the time it's just me in the car.
Please suggest some vehicles, up to 30k

Well I don't agree with the pulling power, I would say this is a kind lagging from the turbo. If your slow down at a round about and accelerate, the terraco give you a heavy shock. Like a manufacturer defect.
Throttle response is very bad.

Been driving my Xcellence 190hp DSG for one month now. It-s fully equipped with everything except leather seat and trailer park assistance. Absolutely love it! Happy to answer questions for anyone thinking about buying it. Great value for money!

Hi I am buying the 2. 0L diesel auto with the dsg gear box at the end of this week. I have been told it is the fr sport spec and google says it is the xcellence lux edition. Will this come with the panoramic roof automatically?

These cars are a pain in the arse.
I picked an alhambra over one of these because of the outright space and sliding rear doors. The build quality, especially the interior, has gone downhill.

reply

Pretty much the same interior as the previous gen Octavia. SUVs are just a marketing tool, they're no different to a normal car just raised off the ground and with an increased price.
