Overall, I love the design improvements, but its not all great. There are some misses here, however. First of all, while the new dual screens are beautiful, and I gotten the chance to use it in a test drive of the Q8. It is far less intuitive and more distracting to use than the knob and tablet screen. The old screen sits higher on the dash allowing for quick glances over to the screen. The new one requires you to look over to the right and down off the road completely. Secondly, while the new V6 engine is turbocharged and while it has more torque than the old supercharged V6, it comes and the expense of significant lower EPA ratings. That's disappointing, considering the fact that the extra 2 HP and 44 Ft/lbs of torque does nothing to improve its 0-60 or it's towing capacity, which both remain at 5. 7 sec and 7700lbs, respectively. Finally, I hate the trend of using fake exhaust designs. The previous gen used real ones, and it looks great to have some carbon scoring on it and seeing exhaust actually coming through it. But with that said, I still love the new design overall, and Audi has done a great job of making some small, but needed update to remain competitive in this ultra competitive market.

I haven't been in a newer Audi, but what I am gathering is that you are supposed to talk to it to bring screens to the foreground and manually adjust or you are to talk to it with full commands and not touch the screen at all.
I have purchased a GPS for a work vehicle and talk to it because I can make requests without touching the screen.
I think that some people reviewing cars either don't know this or are not willing to give it a try. Currently my car has the last gen MMI with knob which I do like, but when it comes to touch screens, I'm not going to navigate 5 screens deep to set the seat temperature if I can just tell the car to do so while driving.

Everyone talking nonsense about laserlight: Yes, Audi brought it a few months ahead of BMW. BUT: Audi just equipped the R8 LMX with laserlight, which was limited to a total of 99 cars. BMW however offered laserlights for the standard i8 since 2014, for the 7-series since 2015, for the 3 series and X5 since 2019. Audi just offers laserlight for the R8 since 2018 and the A8 and Q7 since 2019 / 2020.
So while it's true that Audi was first to introduce it at all, it was BMW that introduced laserlight to the standard models while Audi just did nothing with the tech they had developed (together with BMW and OSRAM, btw) for more than 4 years.

Reason it now looks horrible:
1. They had to do something for the sake of face lift(fixing something that-s not broken) 2. Vertical front grille doesn-t go with the original -horizontal design- now the car has lost its dominance look, instead the car looks humble like suv from a Japanese manufacture. 3. Rear looks like a q5 when you pay money for the q7. 4. New lighting design looks too busy and cheap when Audi-s are suppose to be simple and sophisticated looking. Pre face lift lighting actually looks more futuristic.

I have a 2018 Audi Q7 and I used to love the way it looks and drives until the system started malfunctioning and the break started squeaking and grinding. The service manager said this is -a characteristic of the vehicle! - An $80, 000 plus luxury SUV that-s always in service and this is a characteristic of the vehicle. Buyer beware. Waste of my hard earned money. I hope they fixed the mechanics of this car and not just give it a facelift. Can-t wait to get rid of it and buy the X5 or X7. I-ll never buy Audi again.

Beautiful, but no sale. If you blew out a tire anywhere west of the Mississippi River, you could be stranded for two weeks before you could get a replacement. Hate to say it but Congress needs to demand that manufacturers put spare tires back in cars

I'd much rather have a lincoln aviator hybrid with 450 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque then this. Especially since you can get it without all the cheap black plastic cladding. Plus it's not fwd based like the Audi.

The danger of these touch screen vehicles, if one country decides to ban them like banning phones while driving then these vehicle will devalue like crazy. That-s why Mazda doesn-t put touch screens in their cars.

Land Rover is by no means most beautiful and elegant car, but I would never buy it for poor reliability. You want a perfect SUV? Let BMW buy Land Rover, see what they did to Mini, they are awesome!

Has anyone else noticed that mat complained about the old Q7-s infotainment as -dated and feeling it-s age- but then when it gets a different one he complains about the other being easier to use?
