The type R has the potential to become a real dominant Japanese performance car right now, but they need to get with the times. Just like they swallowed their pride and added a turbo with the FK2, they need to add a 4WD system to put the modern power figures down. Get rid of all the fake aero crap, the boy racer exhaust, and fix those ugly ass rear quarters. There are no good Japanese -driver- cars in this category right now. Evo's are gone, the WRX is in a glut, and the GR Yaris's popularity is an example of the gap in this market.

13: 31 14: 04 14: 35 with sticky tyres on a dry track is why I'd never buy this car. I sold my FN2 because of this exact reason. Not only that but the flaws on the limited edition of taking out the A/C and the Infotainment are completely crazy. Even Mat mentioned it in his video - on UK track days we have to wear helmets and cover all skin - often creating quite an uncomfortably hot cabin - without the A/C you're soon going to get fed up.

Said it was just as practical as the normal Civic when he was in the back but seemed to sidestep the fact they-re only 4 seater I believe? Wonder can you get a 5 seater option on the sport line as looks like the one to have with the black seats although think the larger rear spoiler suits the aggressive looks more than the small one.

Okay, so i just came across the future 2022 Type R model and it looks awful, i'm actually getting worried because i wanted to buy a new Civic Type R in 2-3 years but if they change and keep the design to the one i saw for 2022 then.

Golf R beats it on the strip, the track, and in looks. SMH
I get the infotainment system sucks in the Golf but at least it has one AND it has AC & heat.
So why the absolute buy recommendation?

Lots of money for 1989 Mustang GT performance. AC delete is ridiculous. No radio? Delete the fake aero and there is your 20 lbs. 5. 6 seconds to 60 mph is not a track car, it's more like a Camry sport.
