Audi RS6 v Tesla Model X: DRAG RACE

Thanks to Richard for bringing along his Tesla - It-s time for an almighty petrol vs electric drag race! Mat-s in his long-term RS6 (one of the last videos he filmed with it -) and he-s going up against the Tesla Model X Performance! Now you older carwow fans will know this isn-t our first drag race with a Model X, and you-ll know just how quick they can be- And this one-s no exception! Powered by dual electric motors, it can produce 778hp and a whopping 1, 140Nm of torque! It-s pretty heavy though, weighing in at 2, 485kg. So what chance does the RS6 have? Well it-s certainly not low on power, with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 packed under the bonnet to produce 600hp & 800Nm! And even though it-s a big performance estate, it-s still a whole lot lighter than the Tesla - almost 400kg lighter! So what do you think, will the electric power of the Model X propel it to victory?

Mat the rolling race is practically unfair for all the races. You should consider the winner by looking at the car which picked up speed well and maintained the speed per roads regulations. Just because you came pass the car that picked up well at 160mph doesn't make you a winner. There us no way you're gonna be overtaking 160mph on normal roads. Thats practically possible but not on our roads with limits and regulations. I would suggest if you judge by which car picked up well upto the limits in your country. Assuming that 150mph is the road limit, Let's say A picked up and left achieving 130 mph then B came passed it at 150(or less)mph, B wins. But if A picked up achieving 150mph then B comes past it at 160mph, A wins because it has observed regulations. B broke them so as to pass you which rules it out.
Am a Driver in Kenya and mostly 120kmh is the maximum speed set and sometimes you want to overtake another car going at 110kph but you can't since you would have to drive at 120-140kph to overtake quick which poses risk against safety and also laws of the country.
I hope it clear, its just an idea because some of the speed you overtake with in rolling races are practically not just applicable, and unsafe too on our roads.

Electric is getting better and better and the new battery tesla has is insane. And soon nothing will compete with tesla. I own a TDI and love it but interns of electric. tesla will always be best and soon gas and diesel won't have a chance. It's not a matter of if it's a matter of when

if both cars would be at 100% and you start launching them again and again. after how many launches would the Tesla battery get empty or overheat? I guess the stock RS6 could develop clutch issues as well. interesting thought: )

Mat: -So, what exactly happened? -
Me: Dude, you jumped all three starts, that's what's happened!
BTW, I root for gasoline, but you need to be more careful when starting drag races, you almost always jump the start!

Can you do a race that is reliant on weight? So like 1000hp but 2000kg and then 750hp at 1500kg and 500hp at 1000kg or something? Would be interesting to see how power to weight has an effect on performance.

So, the ugliest car ever made with bad pannel gaps is slightly quicker than a decent car. All this video did was solidify in my mind that the rs6 looks amazing and the Tesla made a bit of sick in my mouth

What's wrong with the first attempt? It seems that Matt Watson just doesn't want to lose and wanted another one. in the third he starts before the girl lowers her arm, before Tesla!

What's the point of the old model x only 800hp so pointlessly this car was dragged here like 10 times it's old and slow now vr a brand new rs6 carwow milking whatever for views.

Can you do the Corvette c8 stingray vs BMW m8 vs AUDI r8 v10 performance vs Mclaren 570s drag race, rolling race with automatic and manual gear changes and brake test
reply

In real world setting of role racing, the RS6 would be cruising in the comfiest setting at 50 mph, and Tesla will jump off so quickly so RS6 won-t catch it easily
