Introducing the all-new Lotus Emira! Now we don-t want to get ahead of ourselves- But we think this might be the best sports car released in 2021! But what makes it so good, we hear you ask? Well when you think of Lotus, you probably think of classic, lightweight cars such as the Elise. However, Lotus has taken on a different direction with the Emira, and it now has daily driver sports cars like the Porsche Cayman in its sights! For starters, the weight-s certainly up compared to past models, with the Emira tipping the scales at just over 1, 400kg. But there-s a good reason for that! This sports car now comes packed with all-new safety tech along with a load of creature comforts, from ambient lighting through to electric seats! You-ll also get a choice of two engines, a 3. 5-litre supercharged V6, or a 2-litre 4 cylinder turbo- The same engine as found in the all-new AMG A45 S! But what do you think - could the new Emira go toe-to-toe with the Porsche Cayman? You-ll have to join Mat to find out!

Its beautiful n since its a lotus I knew it was gonna b good. The only thing is wen it came to the power n engine I was praying u wud say like 600 n 4. 2litres but expecting like 500 n 3. 5litres so wen u said 400 n 3. 5 I was a lil saddened. I so badly wanted this lotus to create an earthquake. But maybe they plan to bring out a sportier version n I cant wait for lotus to enter the big man market. Still keep it as moderately priced as possible lotus coz u do it for everyone

Holy shit, this is fantastic. I want to buy the V6 version as a new daily, I was considering getting a Porsche 718 Cayman, but I think I'd rather have the Lotus. Absolutely gorgeous and small enough to throw around, but looks like it might actually be usable as a daily. I loved driving every Lotus I've ever been in, but I would never consider any to be usable as a daily until this one. I guess remains to be seen if it lives up to the promise, but it is certainly beautiful.

Many many years ago I had a Lotus Europa in - that cigarette company colours- it even had a Renault engine. The door handles fell offand it broke down a lot. As a young man it attracted a lot of attention, which was the whole point. Probably the worst car I ever owned, why do I have such fond memories of her? Yes she had a name! This new Lotus is like the fisrt time that I saw a Ferrari Dino. Stunned.

As BRZ driver I really struggle to comprehend that someone daily driving sports car wouldn't need practical trunk space but would absolutely need sound deadening and electric seats. (because while it may have 300L on paper, you can't fold back seats and dimensions are probably no better than 718. Sounds like controversial priorities but ok I guess, whatever's floats your boat.

Why would anybody buy some Euro junk Lotus when the C8 Corvette is out there for less money and more performance. Not to mention the try finding somebody to service it. 60, 000 pounds is almost $80K in US money. Sorry I-ll stick with my C8 HTC Z51 Corvette.

Ready, set. BANG!
Absolutely gorgeous, Lotus, well done!
You have a winner here, and I hope you're looking forward to ramping up production.
Please manufacture these in the UK and keep your supply chains short!

They've done well on the price considering how special and beautiful it is - and they've not cheaped out anywhere. A Cayman looks so damned boring compared to this! And it's a VAG product. Cheaping out is the name of their game

Only thing I really dislike is the odd hood design. Also, needs a manual transmission. Sick of flappy paddle BS even if it is faster. Especially when it is mounted on the wheel and not the steering column, which is asinine.

Wow. If I-m eligible enough financially I would consider buying it rather than an overpriced supercar that-s harder to acquire and maintain. Where can u get those looks and performance in the price category. Not much.

Corvette and lotus opening up another field of competition. I have long said I wanted to start a car company that offers super car looks for a more affordable price but never knew where to start. Guess I missed out.
