Click the following link and my team and I will help you choose your ideal car at a fair price - from Mat . Check out Mat's saving on one of these cars! - Thanks to Heaunique for helping to set up this race - It-s time for a FWD hot hatch showdown! Mat-s in the Hyundai i20N, and he-s lining up against the Ford Fiesta ST and VW Polo GTI! So how do they compare on paper? Well first up we have the i20N, which is powered by a 1. 6-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine to provide 204hp & 275Nm of torque. It also weighs in at 1, 190kg. Alongside the Hyundai we have the Fiesta ST. Its smaller 1. 5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine puts down 200hp & 290Nm, and it-s a touch heavier than the i20N, with a weight of 1, 255kg. Then finally we have the VW Polo GTI. It-s hiding a larger 2. 0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine under the bonnet, with a power output of 200hp & 320Nm. It-s also a bit heavier than its competitors, topping the scales at 1, 335kg. So, which of these FWD hatchbacks will come out on top?

Wheel hop on a fwd launch so brutal it shakes the dashboard, but in our culture of citi golfs, opel corsas, honda civics, nissan sentras. That is what we refer to as the perfect launch, it's all grip. That's why the wheels hop, could be fixed with some antihop launch bars in the front suspension or stiffer springs with softer strut shocks, but you are almost always winning with those kinds of launches, unless the other guy has more power or you mess up the shifting.

It's not a fair comparison. When the race is about to begin you declare the end of the line is reached already. I agree that i20 n-line has great pickup but real winners are Ford and VW. you should reduce the weights of the cars by removing extra seats, music systems etc to match the weights of the 3 cars and then race. i20 is already approx 150-200 kgs less than the two cars.

What sounded the best in power for me was the fiesta, which is what I expected from Ford. What looks the best to me is the Polo, I would go with the polo any day, it's more conventional to drive and higher quality interior than the Ford. The hyundais body looks tacky imo and the Fords body is kind of boring.

I-m 44 yo, have a great job, but I would not be able to afford one of these (on the lesser scale of Carwow drag races) new without getting less life quality being single. which is sad for such small cars. I'll stick with my 2007 BMW for a while (unfortunately)

Hot hatch fiesta and two four door family mum cars dressed up. Nobody wanted mum's 4 door car when they passed their test, and to be fair nothing has really changed apart from most manufacturers pushing 4 doors because it's cheaper just to make one body shell.

Mat I test drive the i20N today at hyundai dealership but the car never had blind spot in the mirrors and I was told it doesn't come with it- or the adjustable boot floor shelf to lower/move it up or down storage

The VW 2. 0L Turbo engine is fantastic; super strong. I have a VRS 230 and it's even better from lower down in the revs compared to the 200bhp variant

An unfair test really as it-s wet and some of the cars have PS4-s, it needs to be a dry day with uniform tyres, gives a good idea regardless though

If this was a german -show- the vw polo would've won without question. Glad there's still car magazines which do not ride vw's dick

Seems like polo is for long run,
Hundia for short run And
That ford fiesta with only 3 cylinder that power is quite amazing
