I drove an i4 M50 and was throughly impressed with every part of the car except two things: standard equipment is lagging on the 3 (manual steering column, no standard active lane centering, etc) and the efficiency is more on par with a Model X than a 3.
Also, the charging network here in the US for non-Teslas is quite trashy at the moment. Ccs chargers are few and far between and when they do exist they tend to be broken half the time and cost 2X more than a Supercharger.

As a Tesla S owner and an ex-BMW owner, I found that the BMW certainly has better car body built. I can clearly hear my husband-s phone conversations inside the Teslas while I stand outside of the car with everything closed. And I have to turn down the music-s volume when I drive on city-s road. I never had acoustical problems when I drove my my old BMW. I-m already on the waitlist of the i4.

The crash pads for the high-voltage battery may not have been assembled. This can cause damage to the high-voltage battery in the event of a serious side crash and may cause a short-circuit increasing the risk of a fire.
The BMW i4 vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 15 September and 30 November 2021.
BMW recall code: 61430600
Affected models: i4.

So sad where we are going with cars. The younger generations will never know what a true drivers car feels like. Don-t get me wrong, I love my model 3 as a DD, but there is nothing more pleasurable than driving back roads in a great car. The sound, the feel, the flaws, make it a very engaging experience. There is none of that with these cars, even the sound is fake.

Waiting for my M50. The extra weight is part of why I want it, I like heaving that around whereas the Tesla is such a roadster, no struggle there. I think the EV tendency to focus on hp and acceleration will be gone when all cars are faster but only a few will feel refined, like BMW. And that solid cruise feel will once again be the thing.

Fun race, but not quite representative given all of the aerodynamic compromises on the Tesla that really hurt at speed. Would be interesting to see this done stock versus stock. In fact posted a quarter-mile times for both cars show the Tesla is faster in the quarter-mile and significantly faster 0 to 60. Would be good to mention that.

It was a dead heat really wasn't it I'm not just in it for Tesla, but what you've got ask yourself how much charge did that just use and how far will the full charge be able to take you with the BMW over the Tesla not far I bet probably 150 as apposed to the model 3 that will be 265 miles. Also think about the Tesla fast chargers

BMW i4 M50 top speed: 225 km/h
Tesla Model 3 Performance top speed: 264 km/h
What are you guys doing with that Tesla? It seems like the SoC was really low, it dosen't slow down on Autobahn like this one you're using are.
Please show SoC next time you do these kinda tests.

Just saw the interiors. This car still has a drive shaft space in the back. It-s suppose to be electric and no frunk. Also those times are really suspect for the model 3. The only thing I will give the bmw a good grade for is interiors and exteriors looks to be honest. Nothing else.
