Amazing looking car, amazing technology, amazing range. but zero fun! Yes we drive a car to get from A to B, to drop the kids off at school or do the food shop and need maximum range, but driving is also about the sounds and smell of an internal combustion engine. Driving is also about fun when you have an open road, not worrying about how many miles per KWH you can achieve! All electric cars reviews focus on efficiency, efficiency, efficiency! Sorry Mat but will stick with my V8 engine because it feels alive!

Can the german car manufacturers stop pinching others tech and actually concentrate on making a reliable car again. Right now it's worse than British Leyland, they are that bad. Even porsche forgot how to make conrods and engine mounts, something we've being doing since the steam age. What I will say though is Merc engines are vastly more reliable than BMW and VAG junk. BMW engines like b58 are abysmal and only Americans and kids think otherwise. Proper junk heaps like

So the future is literally torture: going as slow as you can, to eek out the best possible range, and then wait an absolute eternity for the battery - which will go bad somewhere in between 5-10 years and costs a fortune - to charge up. Brilliant. Thank you I won't have a part in it. Good old petrolhead ftw.

MEH!
an unmodified lucid air can travel today on public roads, 800km at 110km/h and 1100km at 43km/h. Without compromising comfort, performance, interior and cargo space with just 18% larger battery.
So, if that's all MB can come up with, call me unimpressed

Shmee explains the lack of cameras for mirrors is because the cameras would require extra screens and tech inside the car which would increase the weight enough to make it less efficient than decreasing the drag coefficient

Mercedes should force Julian to do more videos with Mat for our entertainment HA! Very funny having the engineer who totally didnt want to be there go through the drive terrified of messing up and getting in trouble at work.

Am I the only person confused by this car? The review is confusing, the launch of the car is confused. I'm so confused, I received a call from a Spam Caller and I answered the call, and that was confusing.

When the most aerodynamic car from Mercedes looks allot better than the eqs wich is also very aerodynamic.
I don't get it, why must the eqs look that hideous and this looks really good and has less drag.

No technical advances - just and aero body and restrictive acceleration. I'm concerned by those tyres - they're 'okey' on dry flat roads but in the rain, mud, or Winter I would not trust them.

I really like the retrofuturistic look of this car. They would do well to switch this all-touchscreen nonsense with some physical retrofuturistic dials, buttons and and knobs in the interior.

Brake discs in aluminium. That's a terrible idea. That's going to be dangerous, customers never drive the way engineers do. Bad enough when mag wheels break apart under less stress, madness.

I couldn't see a single moment where Matt experienced driving pleasure like we seen in E46 CSL. So my question is, if one car can't give you joy from driving it, why would you have it?

great video, its a bit of a faff to drive though, can't the autopilot just take care of it so it knows what to do. Its really not fast enough for an EV. Interior looks cool though

Looks like a really good idea for a production car.
Would be also nice to measure average power consumption on a flat road at a constant speed of 100, 120 and 140km/h.

I just LOVE all these electric vehicles flush door handles. so when you're burning to death from the battery below you burning like the sun nobody will be able to help.
