We ve got our hands on three glorious V10-powered R8s, and they re about to go head-to-head over the quarter mile! So let s see how the three compare. Starting with the R8 V10 Performance, it s powered by a 5. 2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can produce 570hp and 550Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1, 590kg. If you re looking to pick one up, it ll cost around 132, 000. Then we have the R8 V10 Performance Spyder. It s housing the same engine was the coupe, but power has been increased to 620hp and 580Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch, but as it s the Spyder it s the heaviest car here, weighing in at 1, 695kg. The price is also up on the coupe, costing around 167, 000. But that price is nothing compared to the limited-edition R8 GT - the last fully petrol-powered R8 to ever be produced! It costs from 200, 000, and only 15 of them are set to go on sale in the UK! However, it still comes with the same 5. 2-litre V10 as the other cars, and the power output is almost identical to the Spyder, at 620hp and 565Nm! Power is sent to the rear wheels only, but it s also the lightest car here, at 1, 570kg.

I love your videos but I've always wondered why you haven't invested in upping the production quality? I have come up with a lot of ideas that I think could help take your videos to the next level. There are a lot of angles and techniques that I think you could use that could help portray the true speed of these cars and also make these videos a lot more entertaining and exciting to watch. One example would be an fpv drone following from behind. I would be more than happy to share these ideas with you. I've been working in film and tv production in Turkey for the past 8 years (Part time during high school and University and full time since I graduated) and I would love to come work with you and help with different aspects of the production of your videos. I have experience as a Director, Editor and Line Producer. I've been a follower for some time and just wanted to leave a comment to see if you would be interested. What Mat meant to say, was: Zis is ze German car wiz ze Steering wheel on ze French side of ze car, ya?
You'all do know the history on why steering wheels moved to the left side, instead of staying on the right, the correct, side of the car? Even round-a-bouts ought to be clockwise, as we know. But not when the french have it their way. (Why does someone always have to poo in the drinking water)
If not, then perhaps use it as a trivia to see if you can find ze answer. Some French English hate in distant history. Or not so distant. Maybe? maybe not? It's all relative and pretty much unimportant in the end anyway! But quite interesting none-the-less!

Mat why you don t use a speed limiter and limit the speed 160km/h for all cars either to drive all same speed btw the speed limiter is VERY IMPORTANT option to minimize the speed fined you can see it in german cars + French full option cars + the British cars such as Land Rover
Mat if you see LIM button in german cars press it then program the speed that you don t want to exceed then you have a choice to drive from 0- to speed that you don t want to exceed even if you floor it full patrol it will not exceed your speed limit that you programmed

If the white one was the last hurrah for the R8, why didnt they go big, it deserved it. Only like a 15hp bump, some ducts and charging astronomical price for it. Its lighter and puts out a solid 50hp more. With races that close why would people get the R8 GT? (outside of fewer bring built) The R8 rwd is the best deal of the bunch. Save yourself the money, get the R8 RWD and go to VF engineering, get roughly 800hp for 31k and still be less than the other two lol

carwow Weight of the car actually affects the most at the time of launching, accelerating for rolling race and while braking. The real reason why the Audi R8 Spyder lost the Drag Race was because the Convertable cars aren't as good in Aero department as the fixed roof ones and the Aero is the most important factor at higher speeds!

That RWD is more like nerfed
They decreaed the power
And also it should be about 80KG lighter than the others, so what is with the extra weight?
Audi of course needs to prove that AWD is better, which it is not at all
So balls off to Audo for even making the RWD

Mr. CarWow, when the Corvette ZR1 comes out of the factory shadows please race it with the Mclaren 765 and Porsche Turbo S or GT2 RS MR. We need to know if the Chevy hit or miss with its competitors.

What about a fastest car ever in that race and who would wins? I think it better if also was a helicopter in it for different race and then maybe could be an electric plane or scalextric bicycle? Just an idea.

I love the videos but why cant you ever compare the cars properly. I. e an r8 awd coupe or in the m2 video either all with a manual or all with an auto. Ik its easier said than done but still

Why have the roof down on the Spider quattro? Wouldn t it be more aerodynamic with the roof in place? Or why not get the normal r8 hard top quattro for the test? Then weight is not a factor.

It's honestly completely unfair that you guys always have the convertible cars racing with the top down because it's obviously going to produce a lot of drag and affect the performance.

Rwd performance is just the best model of them all; it's cheaper and it's rwd, looking better also. All u have to do is remap that car if u buy it up to Hurricane Performantes 640hp

The last of the TTs special edition had no more power. Just trim and was over priced

The GT is the least one looking like an R8 and more like a TT
and yes Matt Watson dumped his daily driver the spider for a GT just so he can win and lost all the same LOL

Must be like you said matt, it's the stiffer suspension and less weight so it's not putting the power down, put it on a track though and it would be a different story.

The Spyder definitely had a disadvantage with the top down but great video as always. it also makes kinda kinda sad that these cars will be disappearing soon

This shows why Audi is slipping the base car was all you need and the R8 is the same ugly car since first came out Audi once led with design then they froze in time

I think you need to start recording the braking test on your timing gear as theres no way you can all hit the brakes at he same time, good fun though
