I've spent 2 weeks with the Model 3 and the rubbish autopilot is an absolute dealbreaker for me.
1) There's no touch capacitive steering wheel to remind the car you are there, so you physically have to jolt the steering wheel with force for it to react.
2) To change speeds, you have a single scroll wheel that only does 1 km/h increments, it will take FOREVER to go from say 80 to 140. You would have to put your foot down to accelerate and then somehow press on the touchscreen, hoping you click the right tiny area to lock the speed in. Idiotic.
3) The speed limit and sign-recognition is rubbish. Doesn't work 50% of times.
4) You can only use autopilot up until something like 140kmh. Fine for most countries I guess, but for Germany it's a no go.
5) If you make any type of adjustments with the steering wheel, while in autopilot mode, it jumps completely out of autopilot and you have to engage it again. I've driven in 4 different Model 3's and 3 of them give such a strong jolt when snapping out of the autopilot that even as an experienced driver, I would say it's dangerously harsh how it snaps out.
With most other manufacturers, it will stay in active autopilot mode, but you can easily take over control to make adjustments or overtaking manually, and it will jump back in to full assist as soon as you finish your adjustment/overtake.
6) The basic autopilot is worse than the comparable you get from VW, BMW or Mercedes - I mean in general terms of lane keeping, steering in corners etc. I know this because I drive the exacts same roads with multiple cars from these brands. Tesla on many occasions isn't able to track the lane where others are. What's up with that.
Each of these is nearly enough, on their own, for me to disregard a Tesla, all of them combined makes it a no-go. You might think differently, perhaps you have a different driving style where you don't like to rely on the comforts of autopilot as much, but if you do, the Tesla is the worst for the above reasons.

Just love this Ionic interior design and practicality
(never was in one, so I can't talk about quality, it is my favorite from those cars in this video. but exterior is just terrible.
I however choose car based on how I feel while sitting in it, and having ugly car as that wouldn't be a problem if it would be made right.
Mercedes and Tesla never had great quality control, i hate that piano black plastic in MB and there is so many problems with previous models of Model 3 which I don't expect that they have fixed. but both of those cars looks nice, and technologies are great. in Tesla's case, not just in car, but also best batteries and charging network (which is alone thing that would make me buy one.
Bmw is as a regular car as it could be, I guess that it could win a lot of buyers, just because not everyone is looking for space shuttles.
Anyway. nice cars, all of them on their own. but they are so different, especially in pricing. so everyone should find something for them self.

Here in Germany you see a lot of Teslas but at the same Time you also see a lot of Skoda, Seat, Cupra, VW, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi etc etc. EVs.
I noticed a lot of Americans especially are surprised by that, mentioning lower Range, but Range believe it or not is not as important in most of Europe as you rarely need a crazy high Range for Work, Business Trips etc. While in the USA everything is much further apart, so Range matters more.
Also f. e. here in Germany at least you will have a hard Time NOT finding a Charging Station everywhere. So it's difficult to experience Range Anxiety here.
My point being: Many People buy Legacy Brand EVs because they care more abot Customer Service and of course have Brand Loyalty because of Good Experiences. So it's not rare to see someone prefer an Audi, VW etc. EV over a Tesla even if the Price is around the same or even more expensive.

Whenever I change my car it always takes me a few weeks for my muscle memory to update, then I can change the temperature, air flow, music, seat positions etc without taking my eyes off the road, so the thought of having no buttons seems really uncomfortable to me, and voice command systems are too frustrating to be considered a suitable replacement. When I replace my current ICE car with a BEV my list of priorities will be 1- Physical buttons 2- Price 3- Range 4- Styling, Tesla's minimalist interiors might appeal more to younger drivers who haven't experienced standard ICE car set ups.

Every other week it was Tesla killer We wait even when you put cumulative sales of other brands together it doesnt evencome anywhere near ONE Telsa model. That s nothing short of embarrassing for everone else. It does really matter about whether you like or dislike. Statistics dont care about feelings. By making a car that intregrates with a network in real time with an abundance of chargers, if EV is your thing and your doing more than average driving there still is no competition. Its foolproof.

I don't know why so many Car Reviewers don't like the EQE or EQS look. When I seen the Mercedes in person, it looks big but the car actually looks really nicely designed. You can see it stand out on the road whereas a Telsa, they all look the same and I don't even notice them. BWM, you can't always tell it's electric unless you see the badge. You can also really notice the Hyundai as it also stands out and does not look like anything else on the road. being the INOI6 SUV is better looking.

The way it's heading with ev technology. You getting charged and fined for using mobile phone while driving so how is this going to be safe, your looking away from road not like when on mobile your still looking ahead driving. Ridiculous. Soon after they rip everyone off with ev's they'll bring out their already developed hydro and solar cars. They just have to get every cent.

Well, model 3 is truly cheap for its performance. It got that over any other EV saloon.
Its usability however is horrific. That one large screen and few buttons on the steering wheel is simply bad and a hassle to use.
I also much rather sit in a BMW or Mercedes seat on their suspensions
But still, for the money its unbeatable at the moment if you want performance.

I rather have the Tesla by far.
Imagine in a couple of years when all Teslas are driving completely automatically. Why the heck would i want anything else?
I would pay double the price of the other cars for that functionality.
It feels exactly like when the Iphone 1 first came out. Every other phone on the marked became hot garbage.

I know Tesla fans will hate this, but the only thing keeping me from wanting one is the fact that it still looks like a fish. It would be cool to see more of a redesign from them. Edit: I really hope Mat and Carwow do a vid with these models about range. One of my favorite series that they do is watching them road trip EVs until they die.

I think the biggest issue to note. Yes all the other manufacturers are building really great ev s. Noone is going to be able to build it out at any sort of scale and do it profitably like Tesla can. It s simple numbers and math that is not a good sign for all the legacy carmakers. It makes them all become small boutique ev builders.

In this segment, the i4 M50 would be my choice from all of those, but the Ioniq 5 N coming out is awesome too. Really not a fan of tesla. Cant stand Elon and in nor-cal where I live, not joking, I see 20+ model 3's every commute. Most are white. sprinkle in another 10+ of the Y and X. Such a bland looking appliance.

Isn't there more to a car than interior and driving range? No word about driver assistance and safety features? The fact that Tesla has dropped even below the level of Dacia in that area is a total showstopper for me. And will keep me from buying one until they get their software (and hardware) fixed.

The German car manufacturers are getting crushed by Tesla and the Korean and Chinese EV manufacturers for performance, range, efficiency, tech and value, also manufacturing delivery. Can't deny that Tesla's tech is superior given that it's as much a U. S. tech company as a car manufacturer.

I'll say it again. People who like Mercedes should just skip this generation's lineup. They're ugly as hell and still have to do things they need to tweak and figure out before they're fully in the EV world. Tesla had a huge head start, but other companies are starting to catch up.

Keep in mind that the tires impact efficiency significantly. The i4 and IONIQ 6 both had the largest tire and rim size available on them, which lowers their range 15-20% worse than it would otherwise be. The Tesla and EQE in this test had their range-optimised rims on.

Thanks for another entertaining review. Do any of Tesla's competitors have the ability to save Driver Profiles? I suffer from lower back pain and set up two profiles, one more upright and the other more relaxed, and found this really helpful for long distance driving.

I was all ready to buy the Model 3 highland here in Europe, and then I realized it's designed and built in China -_-. The quality seems decent, but I just don't want to support that country and worker exploitation. I wish they'd build them in the Berlin factory!

The BMW s new infotainment screen looks cheap. Especially with that weird thing holding it. You called the Infotainment screen in the W222 or W213 cheap looking because it was just stuck on but this is really just stuck on. It looks as cheap as the screen in the VW
