Sell your car for free with Carwow: Say hello to the Toyota GR Corolla! Mat has flown over to Japan to get his hands on the hot edition of Toyota’s family-friendly hatchback, and he’s about to find out what’s different to the standard car. When it comes to the design, there are several exterior changes. Around the back, there’s an all-new rear bumper as well as three exhaust tips! Along the side, there are more vents to help airflow, while some side skirts are also added. Up front, there are vents on the bonnet to help air flow & cooling, while there’s also a much larger, more aggressive front bumper and grille. Step inside and there are a handful of changes, including red stitching throughout, and part-Alcantara, part-leather seats. There are also aluminium pedals, bespoke GR dials, and of course, there’s a button for the switchable 4WD system too. Under the bonnet, you’ll find the same 1. 6-litre 3-cylinder turbo edition as in the GR Yaris. However, it’s been improved for the Corolla and comes with new pistons, so in this edition, it now produces 304hp and 370Nm! But this isn’t all - Mat’s also got his hands on the special Morizo edition, which is limited to just 70 units! This comes with a handful of additional upgrades over the regular GR Corolla, including a special Matt paint and wider alloys. The back seats have also been stripped out and replaced by a big brace bar, while a few other elements have been stripped out to reduce the weight by 30kg. So will Mat be a fan of the GR Corolla And more importantly, will he think it’s about time Toyota released the car in the UK! You’ll need to keep watching this video to see for yourself! Lovely looking cars! As if America will be getting these when it’s a country full of SUV’s and massive trucks prob only sell about 20 such a shame as in Uk they would sell loads I’m sure. Need more cars like these wish we had less SUV’s on sale it’s ridiculous how bad drivers are they have no spacial awareness there should be a test before they can buy them horrible things they can’t park them either so take up disabled spots and leave actual disabled people to have to go home because they can’t park the bastards. Sorry for the rant

Just put 2000 miles in 4 days on my brand new Circuit edition. Took a road trip to Los Angeles and took care of the break in miles in one day. After that I drove it like I stole it and the car just loved being thrashed. Also went to Toyota fest in Long Beach it was a blast. The only thing that held me back was I had a Thule motion 3 XL roof carrier on top that limited my top speed on the highway but still got 26 mpg going 80 mph. What a car!

I don't get it why Toyota makes only boring/underpowered/cvt cars and the most fun cars, nothing in between. Why not 200-250PS fun manual corolla or yaris for 30-40% less money Dull hybrid or gr, thats it. Not many people can afford 50k for a yaris or corolla for a second or third car.

I owned a Morizo and a Yaris. Sold the Morizo and kept the Yaris only because the Yaris is much lighter. But that shorter ratio between 2nd and third on the Morizo gearbox was a peach. I wish they fitted it to the Yaris. It would have made a sensational car.

One time use car at track is enough to cancel any you warranty request with explanation (Car was not supposed/developed to be used at track. And yes, Toyota will know this as GPS is always on. But to sell cars they advertise them on track. Shame.

US spec ones have a much nicer and bigger wing in the Circuit Edition. Morizo is no longer made and only a handful were sold. Likely shipping my new 24 GRC CE to the EU so a lucky new owner will be able to buy one from me for the right price.

This could totally would be a Golf R/Civic Type R killer. if only Toyota would commit to make more than a few of them.
I hope one day to be absolutely wrong. But for now they are unobtainium. Here in Canada they are selling for $70k

Why can't they give it the infotainment screen design(thinness & lack of huge bezels) from latest Toyota Camry. There's absolutely no excuse for Toyota to be using that outdated & bulky screen with huge bezels.

Both are getting smoked by my 8 year old Focus RS. Before people get upset, I race two GR carolla’s in the intermediate class and both get left for dead on the one mile straight by my RS.

Most difficult love-more question for me is to do I love golf gti more than corolla gr and vice versa. I used to answer this question easier between much loved mom and dad

Sadly this great car will never come to France. The GR Yaris is no longer sold here, because the emission tax is more than the value of the car. (60 000 maximum, wich the Yaris got)

I had the opportunity to drive a
GR yaris and that was a blast. a tiny 1. 6cc engine that drove like a 2litre turbo it was fun and unbelievable
Salute to Toyota

I love the car, but all these reviews are only making the markups and resales go up higher and higher. So definitely, waiting fifteen years when this is used

Its a shame the Morizo signature is on the screen. Something that will be replaced at some point. Should have signed the actual dash or something!

I like the way the corolla looks over the Yaris. But it wasn't as good to drive. It just feels like a heavier and softer version of the Yaris

Was going to buy a SF90 with a automatic gearbox but I saw the manual gearbox in this GR Corolla, I cancelled my SF90 Order because of that

reply

I'm not a big Toyota fan but I still watch the vids because it's always fun to know how good a car is even though you might not like it.
