Why I can't buy this new Range Rover Sport SV!

The most powerful Range Rover ever created is finally here, and Mat’s about to see if it’s worth the 169, 000 price tag! Starting off with the design, this thing is absolutely plastered in carbon fibre! There’s a carbon fibre bonnet, and carbon vents across most of the front end. There’s also an updated bumper and splitter compared to the standard Range Rover. The car also comes with optional carbon fibre alloys and a little side skirt along the car. Around the back, you’ll find quad tailpipes, but all-in-all the car still pairs elegance with sporty styling well. Step inside and the SV is just as luxurious as the regular Range Rover. There’s leather throughout the cabin, as well as Alcantara on the roof lining. The SV also comes with carbon fibre-backed sports seats as well as a ceramic gear selector, and of course all of the usual luxuries like a fridge in the centre console and soft-close doors. Under the bonnet, the 5-litre supercharged V8 has been swapped for BMW’s glorious 4. 4-litre twin-turbo V8 - the same V8 from the M5 CS, no less! As a result the SV now puts down 635hp and 750Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and the car can hit 60mph in just 3. 6 seconds.

Love that land rover were owned by BMW 20 years ago and putting there old 4. 4 n/a in the range rover was just a disaster waiting to happen. Now there right lets replace our decent 5. 0 V8 with a just as bad 4. 4 TT V8 from BMW. NGL down the line i think there Hybrid inline 6 models will be more reliable.

It’s about time car manufacturers were hung out to dry for the 1990’s level security they still put on modern cars! There is enough aftermarket stuff they could copy and use! If they can force them to meet safety and planet saving crap, they can force them to build more secure cars!

Matt you are a better journalist than simply reporting others inaccurate facts. The fact is modern Range Rover like the 461 SV are very very hard to steal. The video clip is of a previous model RR. Please refer to excellent video on auto express which explains the differences.

I had a Range Rover Sport. lasted 6 weeks until the constant paranoia got to me and curtain twitching every time i heard a noise i presumbed it was getting stolen, and i live in a nice low crime rural area. Great car, not worth the mither.

Fuel economy is rubbish, reliability is rubbish, repair costs are sky high, service costs are sky high. The cars for the super rich or those who are so insecure that the status is worth the money. Sad in all instances
reply

The government needs to implement heavier sentencing for car thieves in general to also manage this. There needs to be multi-tier work done to safe keep the cars.
It’s madness with luxury item crime these days.

Sadly RR’s are now overpriced, overweight, overrated and unreliable. They are driven by people with a Costa in one hand and a phone in the other. It’s a statement car, but the wrong type.
reply

Well that was 10 minutes I’ll never get back! Could only manage that long! Ffs this site has become so pretentious and fkn pompous! Especially Matt! Snotty northerners are fkn unbearable
reply

The people who can buy Range Rovers should probably think about the political parties they support and the taxes they pay when moaning about the consequences of rocketing crime.

You have a 992 911 GT3 RS but you can’t afford to get a phone that is not as shit as that one you had in the video With a broken screen and a brick of a thing. Get an iPhone
reply

It doesn’t how much you bash LR or this SV this will always sell. Don’t care about the reliability, the fuel consumption it’s all about having what other people can’t.

With tech always improving, you'd think it would be hard to steal a car now. Sadly, the tech used to steal cars seems to be faster than the tech thats meant to stop it

Getting a sensible insurance quote on any Range Rover or Land Rover is a major concern. I am surprised that anyone in the UK can afford to keep one or buy one!

Benefit in Kind taxes for vehicles in this country are ridiculous.
How they can legally justify these disgusting taxes, except for EVs, is beyond me.

You can't buy them because they have more than likely broken down as they came out of the factory This brand is for Mugs with big ego's.
