The stock American version of the F40 actually produced 484 HP, while the European had only 478 HP. That said, it was almost a joke to tune it up to 600-700 HP (a couple of KKK or Garrett instead of the original turbos did the job, but the lack of technological features like traction control, ABS or electronic dampers made the F40 a quite raw and scary machine to drive at high speed, and in the mid 90's it could be considered already an outdated car. Nevertheless, I still love the F40 and think it was one of the most significant and influential supercars ever made.

I saw a 288 GTO about a month ago. It was parked out behind a dealership next to the grocery store I was going to. I was seriously considering climbing over the fence and stealing that beauty. Also saw a black first gen NSX outside another dealership last week. I was so excited, until I noticed the sign saying Customer Parking directly in front of it. Still a sweet car

No, the F40 at the time was known to have 500 horsepower. It was car & driver or motor trend that had an article saying 505hp and it was said to have more hp than a ferry it was being transported on. He talks as if the 959 was a joke. They had a 959 sport, 0-60 in 3. 6, top speed 198. The 959 later had well over 500 hp.

Ferrari hrsprs are not normal. I love you an example: f40 lm drove in lots of races against mcl F1 and clk gtr and so on. . I have seen a Dyno Test of an 950 buffhorses f40lm. My wars startet to bleed and they are still bleeding

If F40 is supposedly so goddamn race-focused with pretentious lack of doorhandles and shit, why exactly is it 3000 pounds? How come the LM is 700 pounds lighter? What else is there to compromise on other than the shitty AC?
