some tiny details that separate this from a normal 911: the tachometer has been adjusted to make it easier to see the redline. a common aftermarket mod on 930 turbos was to rotate it for this purpose but RUF just made a new one so it'd look cleaner. the CTR has small aero mirrors to reduce drag. these are so effective that the 350kph Yoshida Specials 930, which has no windshield wipers to reduce drag, has similar ones attached on it.

Quite ironic choosing yellow to stand apart from Ferrari, when the official colour of Ferrari is actually yellow Take a quick look at the Ferrari badge if you don't believe me. The reason their race cars are usually red is because that was the colour all Italian race teams used back in the day (just like all the British teams raced in dark green, all the German ones in white or silver, etc, and it became so iconic they stuck with it.

Seams you forgot that Ruf BOUGHT the Porsche bodies from Porch and built their cars of of them. It essentially means you could in theory buy a chassis and body from any car manufacturer and build the car your self and give the brand a new name cause the original manufacturer cant say anything as you've already PAYED them for said body and or chassis. Or has the law change to stop that sort of stuff?

Production car my ass, I don't care what Ruf says it was a 911 tuner not a production car. A production car is built and developed from the ground up by a company, a tuner car is one where another companies car is taken and modded by a third party and then sold which is exactly the case with the Ruf yellowbird. I don't care whether Ruf built the chassis from the ground up, its a 911 chassis all the same.

Rockstar Games used the same tuner licensing loophole to get a Ferrari into Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix: the Gemballa F355. I don't know why Gemballa Ferraris aren't nearly as common in games as RUF Porsches used to be. My favourite game with RUF's? Probably Project Gotham Racing 4.

fun fact about the wheels: Ruf wanted to use the Fuchs wheels, but they found out, due to the massive torque the engine makes, that at hard take offs, the rim would spin inside the tyre, so they had to design their own, and that's why mr. Ruf is especially proud of the wheels.

The only bad thing about the RUF in Gran Turismo 2 was that you couldn't upgrade any of it's cars with Racing Mods, and that was a huge deal in that game, I bet I could lower my (already very low) times by a whole 2 seconds if it was possible, the car was a monster

2: 03 that's not entirely true, in the 80's Lamborghini used his yellow for the countach called Giallo Halys / LY1K / #cf6600. And if I'm not wrong even the Ferrari 308 could be bought in yellow at the time Ferrari Giallo Modena / 102/ #e66b00.
